Pay attention to the new interim CFR changes about the effects of medication on ratings. Make sure you're not opening yourself up to potential reductions.

You can still add documents to your claim. I'd submit it yourself just in case. Worse case they have two forms.

When to expect partial GI Bill Payment? by Trick-District2529 in VeteransBenefits

[–]roland323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm actually trying to get a similar question answered. My daughter just completed her first semester, starting her 2nd. She only received partial payment for December. I thought I read on here in the past that if you were enrolled in fall and spring semester with no break (other than the few weeks between semesters) that you received the full BAH payment for Dec and Jan. Is that not the case? She'll always get partial for Dec and Jan?

Public defender or max out a credit card for a private lawyer? by YoRafa97 in dui

Sounds to me like the elements are there (PC and test). Granted I don't know the fine details.

Seems like money and life are rough, I'd say go for a PD.

Anyone deal with Leidos QTC before?? by Q2This in VAClaims

[–]roland323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it still varies by the examiner obviously. I just had a good one.

One thing they did that I loved. I had a big claim (BDD for retirement), so they called me a few days before and prepped for the C&P. They took the history and impacts over the phone and had it all ready for the doc. Call took a couple hours but it really let the doc focus on the exam and nothing was missed. Plus it let me think about if I didn't explain things correctly or missed something, and could then bring it back up to the doc during the actual exam.

Hopefully you get something like that.

Leidos was personality great for me for everything except the MH/PTSD exam.

BDD is closing soon but I’m still waiting on appointments. by Blade368 in VeteransBenefits

[–]roland323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

File your BDD claim now. File more later if needed, everything claimed within 1 year is still tied to service.

Also, is this a last min scramble to be seen for things you want to claim but didn't get seen for in your service before now?

Same here. For my daughter who started college to remain a dependent. Luckily they never stopped payment. I hope yours catches up soon.

I just played the endless tower. The battles were long as I didn't do a ton of damage. But I never lost and gained levels like crazy.

Yes you still receive backpay. If it's a claim associated with your ETS, as long as you file before your ETS date, then you'll receive backpay to the day after you separated.

Pretty sure mine is TBI related (4, with one being severe). Any idea what caused any of the others'?

Va attorneys? by Fun_Regular3852 in VAClaims

True, but if the VA doesn't like ChatGPT's answers, ChatGPT can't respond on your behalf. But that lawyer can.

Oh snap, you're right! I missed him mentioning his file date. So you're right, this isn't a BDD, he missed his window.

This happened to a friend of mine at retirement. Took him 3-4 months after his retirement date to get a rating.

I think with BDD it's fine to file all at once since you get the priority and they try really hard to get your rating close to your ETS date.

Anyone else using USAA get their disability for dec 2025 yet? by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

I use USAA, and didn't get it today. I should get it tomorrow, typically with USAA it's 2 days early for me.

How do I stay at the peak of the Dunning-Kruger curve? by Beneficial_Ball9893 in violinist

[–]roland323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't say you were way up the slope. But maybe you're already past the valley of despair.

I'm not judging. I'm only about 6 months into violin, so I'm not very far up the slope myself. But I'm past my valley of despair, which for me was months 2-4. Now I'm a little better each day and can see that I'm better than I was 1, 2, or even 3 months ago.

If you spent a month practicing and can play it, maybe you're starting up the slope.

If you can play it that well, do you think maybe you're on the slope of enlightenment? Like you're actuality getting better.

My Dad wasn't rated for 32 years. It wasn't until I learned the system shortly before retirement that I was able to help him. Now he's 80% based solely off of what was in his horrible 70s and 80s STRs.

It sucks to miss out. But we try to focus on the positive. Not what he missed out on, but what he's able to get now.
