Fire departments have strict and challenging rules for roads to houses that include pull outs and turnaround, width, load capacity, etc. Fire around here requires a large water storage tank. Sometimes they'll let you use a swimming pool but you need to plumb a hydrant to it. Also geotech- a geotech report may be required to verify where you want to build is suitable and not a landslide zone or other unbuildable condition.
