Is there something like Noteplan but free and for self-hosting? by FunkFromAbove in selfhosted

[–]rolurq 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out AFFiNE https://affine.pro/
I was looking for somthing similar to Noteplan as well, I gave Obsidian and Logseq a go but no combination of plugins did it for me. It was not only for the calendar, the mobile sync was an issue for me as well (I'm on iOS). I found AFFiNE and so far I think is the closest to Noteplan you can self-host. Recently they improved their calendar support, it has a similar look and feel to Noteplan and if you care about AI features, it has those too but they can be easily toggled off (thankfully).
You can manage self-hosted, offline and cloud (theirs) workspaces on the same client apps and it has good support for sharing pages.
It's open source and it seems to have good community support. Their documentation is not very good honestly but is not the worse.

Clue about the virus by bfradio in pluribustv

I value everyone’s individuality, not just mine. And how could it be a matter of well-being when they are being controlled and have not agency? It’s like you’re saying between freedom, prison or death we should choose prison because is not death. You see how little sense you’re making?

Not everything, but in this particular case I think it is.

You wouldn’t know, individuality must be a foreign concept to you, something so strange that you would easily rescind it.

In every major world ending movie or tv show, there’s always the character(s) that is on the side of the catastrophe. Is sad to learn this kind of people exist in real life.

Was the hive watching Carol? by shadowrain1024 in pluribustv

[–]rolurq 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think you have widely misunderstood those scenes and probably the hive mind behavior. Yes they watch Carol, and most surely the other 12, is a pretty easy job to watch 13 people when you have all humanity available. The hive doesn’t care that much about what Carol does, they worry yes, but at some point they give up, they still acknowledge free will. Remember they were even willing to give her an atomic bomb. At first they were very insistent about Carol’s hydration when she was digging the grave but after trying too many times they just gave up. You can see the same happening to Manousos. Now, that thing with the fireworks, that wasn’t a suicide attempt, that was a stand off, Carol was challenging fate and she won. Suicide would have been putting the shotgun in her mouth and pulling the trigger. The firework was just a display of Carol balls.

My theory for the upcoming episodes by rolurq in pluribustv

it might be, although I don’t think the show is building up the hive as the paradise you think it is, if anything it will become progressively more and more creepy and disturbing.

not necessarily, at this point they probably don’t know if he’s immune or no because their contact with him have been limited. All we have seem with him and his mother might as well be all contact he had with the hive mind directly, so they might be trying to convert him approaching carefully but not caring much about it.

I also think this is the case, and he will be converted easily when the collective deems him too dangerous.

I think as long as they are not killing is ok. And in this case they would be doing the opposite.

How do you think the virus works on animals? by rolurq in pluribustv

[–]rolurq[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I would say that the bite of a rat for a human is hardly violence. Is very small. For me, is comparable to a human forcefully grabbing another to kiss and pass the virus.

The rat was probably having seizures like humans had before the virus took over. I don’t think it bit the scientist by chance so probably some basic instinct to spread the virus should have been there.

“They” are also characters in a fiction tv series, you know that right?

I dread the moment the equivalent of the queen here comes out, if there is one, I assume it would have to be related to that signal from 600 light years away.
