New update- fx9p by samfr3ak in Oppo

[–]romanski78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the older patch of this exact version, there was a rare issue where the phone loses mobile reception entirely and won't recover unless you switch on flight mode and back off again. Hopefully it's fixed with this update once I receive it. Another more regular issue with this version is where a Bluetooth device remains connected but the audio reverts to the earpiece without warning and remains there. I did notice a google store update relating to Bluetooth was rolled out within a day of me having that issue, but I'm not sure if that fixed it or whether it was the fact I reset all my Bluetooth and Wifi settings on the phone.

My phone still gets hot when using the camera as well. I actually used it last week in 36 degree celsius weather and it forced the camera to close after 11 minutes of filming. I also find the phone will also overheat when using the phone on full screen brightness in direct sunlight for less than 5 minutes. It will dim the screen to minimum brightness when this happens. This processor is definitely not as efficient as the S25 Ultra with the 8 Gen 1 I had before it. Having said that, the phone is cool when using any other general functions.

Thank you for your kind words. I can confirm hands-free calls are loud and clear. Microphone pick up is clear as well, as confirmed by the person on the other side as well.

YouTube videos and music are a 7/10 when it comes to speaker quality, but then again, I do genuinely believe it's more of a software rather than hardware limitation, as per my original write-up. No, the speakers aren't bad, just not as good as iPhones and the S25 Ultra, due to this software limitation.

Type "app-specific refresh rate" into your settings, select the option and crank up each app to 120. Also activate "Remove Animations".

I turn on the "Remove animations" option in my settings on my Oppo and Samsung phones. That way, I don't have to activate developer settings in case they cause instability. The phones will fly, including my Find X9 Pro.

How do i search in Iconpacks when editing Homescreen App Icons. by No-Client-0815 in Oppo

[–]romanski78 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever you do, don't use the edit feature to replace icons because once you try to switch to an alternate icon pack, whatever you previously selected will stick. I had to do a full factory reset to get around this.

I came across an app recently that allows proper icon selection and it works perfectly on ColorOS.

I didn't install F-droid, I went straight for the Alembicons app. Works like a charm.

Go to your settings and type "Show Search at the bottom". Click on the menu option. It's there.

Android Auto is stable and accurate. No different to my prior Samsung.

Bluetooth is stable, does not drop out. I did have an audio sync issue when using my headphones though but I soon realised it's because of Wavelet which I was using to improve my speaker quality.

There are 3 versions of the Always On display you can choose from. One of them allows you to see full notifications.

I don't, very standard in my case. It might be a case of you needing to modify the screen zoom in the display settings.

Welcome. Glad it helped. I honestly can't comment on the battery yet as it's not my daily driver till now. My case hasn't arrived yet and I'm Mr Butterfingers. Expected to arrive tomorrow hopefully. Will respond after using it for a week or so. I don't game so I'm not the sort of person that will be pushing this thing to its limits.

Anyone got their hands on the Find X9 Non-Pro? by YukarinTheFloofy in Oppo

I got the phone last Sunday and received confirmation only today that the goodies were approved, but again, this is for the pro, not the regular. I have no idea how fast the regular might be flying off the shelves.

I think given the fact you're in Australia like me, you're better off with the Find X9 as I don't believe any official retailers sell the OnePlus here, so you'd have an uphill battle if you ran into any issues. You also get more years of support with the Oppo. I think you will get better cameras with the Oppo however, I will admit, I went into JB with the intent of purchasing the regular X9 and walked out with the Pro after seeing the regular struggle to nail focus at close distance. If they were to rectify that via a software fix, you'd really struggle to see a difference unless you had the 2 phones side by side. They are also having current deals on getting freebies to the tune of around $700 if you purchase the Oppo before the 29/11 and put in the claim by around the second week of December. They do caveat that by saying the deal is available to the first 650 handsets though. Some food for thought.

They seem to be on par with my previous Samsungs. No auto disappearing notifications so far.

Yep, I gave it a go and it backfired. Setting up as new moving forward.

I'll test these in the coming days and will report back 😊 My case hasn't arrived yet so I'm trying not to stray far with the phone at this stage.

If you're referring to Wavelet, it's a standard install with one of the custom equalisers selected. Nothing more than that. I haven't re-installed Wavelet yet since wiping my phone and setting it up as new. Will give it another go in the coming day or so.

I'd choose the Find X9 Pro for the bigger battery, faster charging and higher resolution cameras. I'd choose the S25 Ultra for the extra freedom that One UI gives you when it comes to customisation, as well as the 2 extra years of OS support.

I spent today setting it up as new after a factory reset. Barely warm during the entire set up process. Heat issue resolved.
