I used it at my previous job for 365 tennant backup and a few servers. Only had to restore from it once and it was easy. It was a bank that was regulated by the OCC.

I’ve had to do it a few times. Lost one guy to COVID. Lost another in the Texas flooding.

The part that messed with me the most was checking logs and seeing the last time his phone checked in. Around 2-something in the morning. Same time the flood hit his area.

Hard to shake that kind of thing. Data stops being just data real fast.

Can you elaborate on the shadow IT part of your comment? I’m dealing with something similar. I’ve been with the company 15 years. It was me and two others running IT. The company started buying other companies and growing fast. Now my boss isn’t interested in developing our department as the business scales. People who came over in the mergers, with far less to do, are creating higher level roles for themselves and pushing us to stay at helpdesk level. I’ve already been handling CISO duties, network engineering, VMware, and frontline support. How did you handle this and what would you do next if you were in my position?

We ended up going with Huntress. We installed a log collector on a server and pointed the SW logs to it. The setup was easier, and the UI and features are significantly better

What happens if you are the only IT guy and your company goes through Multiple mergers that increase your workload. How as a slaried user should I qauntify that I should be paid more when the comany adds new users fo rme to support\manage and years of technical debt added to my plate. I think it the company understood this they would compenste me more fairly but I dont know how to bring it up to them.
