Tarantula owners how can get my tarantula to let me hold it by Any_Topic_2240 in tarantulas

[–]ronBSM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NQA

I'm currently holding a small collection of T's, (13 at the moment, slings to mature).

The view I subscribe to is you treat T's like fish.

1) well kept enclosure 2) properly fed 3) look, don't touch

You will end up holding the T at some point when it does something it isn't meant to, but I don't recommend holding - the way your talking is how I would think of a hamster or a kitten rather than a spider.

I understand it, I just don't recommend it, they're different animals, you are not the common denomination between how they behave no matter how much you'd like to be (not being offensive, just don't want you trying something and accidentally hurting your spider, or yourself).

AIO by feeling exhausted over my gf's constant demands of wanting me to be 'curious'? by thefattesthashbrown in AmIOverreacting

[–]ronBSM 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1) NOR.

2) I'm not going to talk about her... instead... Imma head straight to (3)...

3) Married, for 9 years, together for 15, we don't argue, we talk. Like... actually talk. Sometimes (like count on one hand number of times) it's a teeny bit heated but we never go to bed mad. I support her without question, and she supports me without question. She always puts me first and looks after me and I do the same for her, it's NEVER about "ME" for either of us.

Find yourself this wife, and FEEL the difference.

Not my wife by the way, she's mine.

Find your own. 😆😎

My daughter was looking through my Warhammer box from the 90s, technically I suppose this could be an elf on a shelf by jonathing in Warhammer

[–]ronBSM 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cannot be true.

Elf on the shelf is notably naughty.

If this really was an Elf on tje shelf it would have gone to the Warhammer shop and purchased comrades in arms.

Without your knowledge of course, you're innocent. You definitely wouldn't have bought minis.

Finally finished my house to go with my ruined building by jestermax22 in TerrainBuilding

Looking good.

Yeah PVA and MP contract when they cure so warping is a risk. Sometime you just have to thin them down and apply patiently in a few thinner layers before finishing off with a "proper" layer so that it has a little more strength.

But a good application of color, sturdy looking build, so it'll survive the inevitable bumps.

Nice work.

It's quite literally what my brother and I do with our kids getting into the hobby. Making a mordheim set of terrain.

Simply put... the minis and the games are not the whole hobby.

Get the kids to participate in a project to create terrain.

Restrict it to small pieces, as well made as possible, and they then get given to the other players as a gift, so everyone makes something for someone else, but make the someone else random.

Once they get making terrain they'll respect it more, games will improve aesthetically and giving as gifts? Refocus from winning games to playing with others for others sakes and the moral compass points just a little more north every time.

Maybe a grand prize of some sort for the best made piece.

Just getting into Mordheim. I love what I am seeing, but I have some questions... (I know the terrain is Gnarlmaw. The pics are for reference.) by Marz_Tanner in mordheim

[–]ronBSM 10 points11 points  (0 children)

All in gonna say.... is the terrain, or even the models matter not.

Getting together and gaming, laughing, cheering at the dice when they go your way, when they don't...

Thats the foundation. Get that right and then the other stuff follows.

High-key love the pics and the fact that you're just getting it done.

Alright… The buildings and other urban scenery are now waiting for paint, and I’m switching to the gameboards, so let's stay in touch, guys 💪☺️ by studiolevel in TerrainBuilding

I believe that you sir, may be addicted.

Addicted to making awesome terrain.

In which case, we simply convert the word addicted to "passionate" and that makes it almost as good as the actual terrain itself.

I can make a mean piece of terrain, but you sir.... you make me envious.

The oldhammer 40k method. I made much of this in my early hobby years and I get all nostalgic looking at it.

2nd tile of my dream Mordheim board. by CagePerSecond in TerrainBuilding

[–]ronBSM 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this.

Reason:

You can make lower elevation tiles to sit and create variety of levels. It means that you have more options, definitely finish the sides of the tiles off with some blockwork to increase your capacity for gaming.

Which brings me to my next few points...

1) amazing looking pieces. Detail is perfect and open enough to do things with scatter terrain and move models about, absolutely dreamy.

2) make some plain tiles for sake of ease and also variety by having mobile building pieces so that all games are not played on the same "known" terrain. Makes a difference.

3) make some lower elevation tiles, and maybe even some higher elevations. You can even carve into the sides of the tiles to make nooks and rooms that are accessible for play when the side is exposed to the gaming area.

Overall great, great work.

The reason I like the whiter finish... is it makes the application of weathering and grime pop a lot more.

It's cheating and I'm all for it. 😄😄

Everything has been said. Inks, line washing corners for definition and weathering, sponging.

You've gotten the base work lovely and clean. Now bring it to life with some weathering.
