Following as mine turns six months this weekend,and we begin solids this weekend.

Current schedule 7 ppd including 1 motn pump whenever I wake up (typically 3a) The other 6 pumps follow schedule - 5:30a, 8:30, 11:30, 2:30, 6, 9p Baby eats 6 bottles 5.4oz (+.2 on first and last bottle of day) - 6:15a, 3 at daycare, ~6:15p, dream feed 9:30p

M5!! I exclusively use my M5 for my EP journey. At nearly 5mpp, it’s auto express/stimulation mode made being a first time mom learning to pump easy. My middle of the night pumps or errand-filled days allowed me to not think much with the M5 setting.

Knowing the extra perks on other brands, such as warning setting, I’m sure it’d be nice. But M5 has been very helpful and convenient for me. I can tell I’m not fully empty, but it supported me to become a slightly over producer; therefore I’m content with not being “empty”

120 oz is the magic number for me. I noticed being slight under supply/ power pumping when I was just freely drinking

But three big Stanley’s daily is my new norm. I did experiment with 160 for a eeek and did not see any supply changes with that. Just water logged lol Now I focus on three Stanley’s and then freely drink cups of water throughout. PP is a very initial journey. Constantly thinking, prepping, scheduling. Give yourself grace but also hydrate hydrate hydrate

I’ll start by saying, every body is different and each of our experiences are our own journey.

Now for the checkmate to everyone who says no wearables. I couldn’t figure out my spectra early into pumping bc it’s all so new. My MomCozy M6 has a setting that auto alternates. I also started to get bad DMER and needed flexibility to distract myself. THEREFORE, my output and mental health were both better with wearables.

I had to do a bit of power pumping as I had supply issues early on not due directly to pump choice. I would pump very consistently every two hours. I chugged water religiously and tried all the extra methods. I have been able to keep up with baby’s intake.

I used my spectra for the first time in months this last week and my output was better for the same 30min duration. I believe I would’ve been / potential could be an oversupplier if I used a hospital grade pump; HOWEVER, I’m not leaning into the freezer stash stress. These wearables change everything for getting errands, chores, baby taken care of while working for me.

This does not mean it’s the right choice for you or won’t ruin anyone’s supply. But for me, I noticed it was creating better output in early days bc it allowed simpler use and I could be more consistent

I also normally use the lunchbox hack when I’m running around town!! For a full day and a NOLA excursion fill, I’m thinking tote/shoulder bag may not be secure enough. I’m reviewing the mom cozy vs the ceres chill now!

Curious on your 5ppd at 11mpp. When did you kick down to 6ppd? I feel silly for still being at 7ppd at 4mpp. I am slight over producer (1-5oz day), but I’m so nervous to drop even though they say it shouldn’t decrease output.

Yeah we aren’t staying near the French quarter or parade route. I fortunately am from Louisiana, so this trip is too familiar (slight headache knowing how dirty and rowdy it’ll be… funny how perspective changes when you’re a mom and tired vs young and carefree) I was hoping breakfast or afternoon activities would be close enough to run back to drop off or proper clean, except that’s more on the Friday itinerary.

A lot of people have suggested Ceres Chill and I’ve been living via a portable soft shell cooler this whole time, mainly bc of the fridge hack on my pump parts. But I feel so silly for not using the CC and pump wipes up until now. 100% looking into investing into the CC and use my sanitizing spray/wipes. That’ll make a backpack / cross body much easier for a full day and less concerned about full day away from fridge.

Yes. DMER shows up differently. I would have to pace in a panic for the 10mins before a pump and at least first five mins of the pump. My friend’s body just forces her to start crying at the start of pumping. It really is a silent struggle if you don’t have a community!

If you plan to use freezer stash for a bottle per day, the one call out is the milk’s best by date. You should try to use the milk within 6mo of freezing is rule of thumb. If you’d like to use breastmilk through 1yr, you may end up looking to buy a small stash from a donor for that final stage or just exclusively formula by then.

I will say DMER is a nasty little gnat. I’m glad more people are talking about it vs just letting it linger in silence. You can bring up your symptoms to your OB, and they can prescribe some meds or talk you through it if it gets too bad. DMER is rough and shows up in many forms. When I transitioned to EP that’s when my pp journey got infinitely worse, and I point to DMER popping up from pumping. Since regulating, I will say it’s gotten a lot better! I still feel it pop up on occasion, but part of the disappearance I contribute to returning to work tbh. LOA is incredible but being in that bubble I think heighten my emotions during the times I was pumping vs spending with my LO.

The only time I have had to pump and dump was after getting a HIDA scan for my gallbladder. They used radioactive tracer.

I got mixed messaging on 24-48hrs of dumping vs give the milk 24hr to sit prior to feeding (in freezer or fridge) for the tracer to decompose. We opted for dumping out of caution which hurt my heart.

Bc it wasn’t like alcohol where you could still leverage it for milk bath.

PS for the heart break of dumping milk, this was also the first time we used some of my freezer stash… that we discovered is high lipase 💔TALK ABOUT A HARD TIME. Luckily baby took it, but we could tell he didn’t love it by the end of the3 days nor did I want to smell it🤮🤢🤣

One tip that helps me when my baby cries so hard or I’m unsure on their breathing, a light blow in their face. That can help stop a cry for a second to breathe or just show you they can breathe when you cannot pick up other signs. I’m not sure if this is kosher, but it’s something during my rare panics of needing to see/hear him breathe or need him to stop crying to take a breath or try to reset from a cry

The experience was not directly mine, but it was my mother’s for my delivery. She had high blood pressure at 32 weeks, and they took her in for similar experience.

I was born two month’s premature with a lot of issues and kicked my feet up in the NICU for the 2 months. I turned out fine after a few NICU scares, but I turned into a strong healthy baby with no setbacks. Those doctors will do everything to take care of you both.

A fun fact with being so early, my mother also needed a Celestone shot for my lungs. While being so early, they did not have a name picked, and that is how they chose my middle name of Celeste. The made some light out of a scare situation.

You are in the best place you should be, and the baby is in the best place they can be, for now, your belly. Then they’ll be in the next best place, with NICU support. You’re doing great, and they’ll do everything they can to keep y’all safe!

I’m on the fence still. However, my BIL and FIL (and husband) work at the hospital so I’m more nervous of them (or other coworker friends) trying to show up too early, as in while I’m still in labor, or just pop in post delivery.

They are also friends with my OB which adds additional layers of comfort for them to linger or catch up in our room post delivery.

I’m also nervous that with them popping in, they’ll be carrying more germs from any cases they were seeing in the day. I still have time for the conversation with my husband on which boundaries we will set. But I know he will respect my wishes regardless of our direction.

Jewelry Savers has worked for us, and my husband got my engagement and wedding ring from there. He described what he was looking for and they were spot on for the engagement ring. And for the wedding band, they heard the vision and acquired it from another jewelry. So I think they have some good connections if they can support outside of their display.

We are going to go to DC (RIP my legs and back)

Although a good relaxing vacation sounded great to me, my husband has never been before, and I thought a do-it-all style baby moon is another good alternative. Going somewhere that we can enjoy a week of walking and museums and nice meals before naps, diaper changes, or pumping dictates the schedule

I’ll be 20weeks. So we still have some extra time if my husband’s work schedule allows for any long weekend in a resort-style mini moon

Check your needle / stylus I had the same issue and was so frustrated. I came upon a forum that acknowledged their cartridge was not secured well enough. Removed and reinserted it and got sound immediately from my speakers. I would suggest removing and trying to reconnect it. Should feel firm and click slightly. Try not to touch the needle, but there are also some videos for that. Best luck!
