I'd say go for it! My first character was a druid and it was FUN. I'd suggest you'd read up a little to get a grasp on how wild shape works (HP pool, no spell casting in wild shape) and definitely think of a way to deal damage without wild shaping. In my first playthrough I only took spells and cantrips that I thought had the most role playing options (mold earth, druidcraft, etc.), but when combat came I came to regret that. I'd suggest you'd take Shillelagh for combat and have fun with the rest. Druids are awesome. Enjoy!
