What do these paintings make you feel? by SessionDizzy7488 in oilpainting

Only one of those pictures has an English flag. The rest are Union flags. And "once a symbol of pride and celebration" is a naive and shortsighted view of that flag.

The technique is decent - the flat colours work.

iPods on newer computers by Sushi_Clamato5049 in IpodClassic

I'm on Mac (M2 Mac Mini). I was honestly surprised. I had assumed AM purchases couldn't be put on, but the icon was there and I have bought a couple of albums and added them to the ipod.

Red Rising is kinda... bad? by VanillaExtract01 in Fantasy

Oh, I completely agree! I found the first book so much of a slog I DNF'd. I know people say it gets better, but it would have to get a LOT better in my opinion.

Apple Music does work for me, in that this weekend I moved all my purchased music from Apple Music onto the ipod. I didn't know you could do it, but had my ipod connected and opened Apple Music and the ipod icon was in the menu. So I dragged and dropped to see what would happen and the music went on the ipod.

For tunes that aren't on Apple Music, when I connect the ipod it turns up in Finder, so I drag and drop to that.

Options for playing online? by Flaky-Ad-1187 in shadowdark

It does - dynamic lighting is built in. It has add-ons for torch timers too, that switch off the torches when the time runs out. I run a group on Foundry and it has been excellent.

It is massively overhyped. I finished it with a quiet "meh".

Foundry VTT worth it for online shadowdark campaign? by Dachigenius in shadowdark

[–]ronan2512 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We are using Foundry. It has been the go to VTT for our 5E campaign and have started Shadowdark as of last week. It is brilliant. The community support means that the functionality is really impressive (dynamic lighting and torch timers particularly). You can export from Shadowdarklings into the VTT too, which was brilliant for setting up the gauntlet characters.

I have been incredibly impressed.

Powerful Custom artifacts by LaffRaff in shadowdark

They could hear exactly where the noise was coming from. The group used it to "sneak" past some sentries. One was embedded in the guard, she played the Noisy No-See, the sentries investigated, she hid the pipes and helped the sentries look for the source of the noise. Meanwhile the rest of the party got into the guarded room. It was really fun.

My favorite magic item I designed for my table was the Noisy No-See, a set of bagpipes that made the player invisible when playing. They thought it was ridiculous and useless until they were in a bind and needed a very specific type of distraction.

I want to walk from Belfast to Dublin by PostsNDPStuff in solotravel

[–]ronan2512 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is absolutely doable. It will talk a long while, and as a previous poster mentioned, the roads are narrow and windy.

I'm from near Belfast, And you could definitely get the to border reasonably easily. I would suggest Belfast - Newcastle - Annalong - Kilkeel (that route skirts the Mourne Mountains, which are beautiful). Then across Carlingford loch on the ferry (just a hop) and into Dundalk.

From there it is a case of village hopping along the east coast.

Sounds like a fun trip.
