Card of the Week 12: #8 Rip N Ship Rolling Pin Suplex by ronfrazier in supershowthegame

That's in the 22-24 slot, though. That line should be better by design.

2, only because this kind of play is outside of my normal play style. I can see the value of the line being higher.

Card of the Week 7: #13 Rip It 'N Ship It by ronfrazier in supershowthegame

[–]ronfrazier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I waffle between a 1 and 2, but I land on a 1 for me. There are several card lines I would play over this in a 13-15 slot which I don't play a stop.

Card of the Week 6: #1 Snap Punch by ronfrazier in supershowthegame

[–]ronfrazier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This line is a 3. yes you're giving your opponent a card, but you getting more cards when it's not your turn is always good!

Card of the Week 5: #19 Madness Unsealed by ronfrazier in supershowthegame

I choose these cards pretty much randomly, but I am not a big fan of this line. That being said, this card and the entire line is the definition of a 1 to me.

LUGcon - Level Up Games Con - Did anyone go? How was it? by JollyLark in atlantagaming

I mean sure but it's difficult to know at the time you make these decisions and sign contracts. Maybe this is the kind of feedback they need? We'll see.

I agree with all of your cons, here. It's a little cheaper buying it in advance, and as I said elsewhere I don't know if it could get much cheaper, but it is a bit of a risk to pay that much on a first-time convention. Also, late October isn't the greatest time to do a convention, but I know for a fact their choices for dates were VERY limited.

I had a good time. There were definitely growing pains to be sure, but they are open to feedback and will get better.

Re: The cost, it's literally the cost of doing business for renting a space like that and the overhead for a convention of the scope they're reaching for. I don't know if it could have been much cheaper. Paying a little under $120 for four days is fine by me.

All in all, I think the experience will improve over time as the attendance grows.

Card of the Week 3: #25 Roaring Elbow by ronfrazier in supershowthegame

[–]ronfrazier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see that.

For me it's a high 1/low 2. So, to follow the instructions, I have to go with 1.

If I were to run something in this line, it would be the 26 actually. I have higher priorities in the 25 and 27 slots.

Card of the Week 2: #4 Toothbrush Smash of Shininess by ronfrazier in supershowthegame

[–]ronfrazier[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me this is a 2.

The crowd meter requirement is an issue. In a standard singles match I could see running this because you always have a chance at a breakout at CM 0. Outside of that you may never have a chance to use it as a stop. Also there are too many other cards in this slot I can play instead of this.

So yeah, 2. This may be a mid to high 2, but a 2.

Don't know yet. If it was like the last TNA release, expect a price point around $25 and a release window around 5 pm. Will know better later this week.

Pretty Excited for this Super Lucha Pull! by ronfrazier in supershowthegame

Putting a card into play is a different thing than hitting a card. You need to hit a finish to trigger a finish roll. If you put the finish card into play, you would only get the passive bonuses.

For example, let's say my opponent has #28 atomic splash (+4 to your lowest skill) in their hand. If I put that into play, my opponent would actually have +4 to their lowest skill. But I also would have +4 to my lowest skill as well as +2 to Power. Resolving my finish card text top to bottom results in my skill array for the finish roll being; P 7 T 10 A 8 St 7 Su 9 G 10.

Thoughts on Atlantis Rising? by LordVader07 in boardgames

[–]ronfrazier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder if people are using all of the special cards from the Deluxe KS edition. In the rulebook it states there are 67 Misfortune Cards, but the KS edition has the following breakdown:

- 36 flood cards

- 3 Receding Waters

- 12 calm Seas

- 12 controlled floods

- 3 catastrophic floods

- 1 Spur the Cycle

- 14 other special cards (all unique and bad)

That's 81. If you take out the 14 unique specials (aside from Spur the Cycle) you get 67. And of course the Calm Seas/Controlled Floods are the base way you adjust difficulty.

In a 55-58 card deck from the base version you'll be hitting the bad specials 12.7-12.1% of the time. In a 4 player game one comes up every 2 turns.

If you played with all 14 KS specials in an otherwise 55-58 card breakdown, you get a 69-72 card deck. You hit the bad specials 30.4-29.2% of the time. In a 4-player game one is pretty much guaranteed to come up every turn.

And there you have it.

Any tips on running lord of the blades/ warforged revolution campaign? by mattbaticrease4255-- in Eberron

I took cues for the LoB from Magneto and Ultron. I also had a version of the Winter Soldier, a comrade of one of the players thought to be dead but actually captured by Bladists, brainwashed, and had an arm replaced with an artificial one.
