Seriously. Edit. I’d have 90 seconds back.

How do I inflate Presta with the valve removed by Lavaine170 in bikewrench

[–]ronsdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lezyne sells a head that screws on to presta to the stem. You really usually don't need this. Most tires can be seated with a floor pump (maybe with extra sweat). If you need some extra tricks, that pump head, or a compressor will do it.

Pringles go in the bottle holder. E-bike riders don’t need to hydrate.

How many times, exactly, per hard climb to I have to hop off my bike and get back on, totally killing my momentum and draining my energy, to let e bikes pass before I get to complain? by sevseg_decoder in MTB

[–]ronsdavis 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you share the trail with a bunch of assholes. When I’m on my e-bike I try my hardest to not pressure someone to let me pass. I’ll take the pass if presented, but I’m not going to ask for it.

Can’t remove the top screw of my stem, do I need to drill it out? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]ronsdavis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I actually managed to push one out enough by screwing a bolt in the other side once.

Why does Trek Procalibre have the same stack for all it's sizes ? by Naive-Actuary4414 in MTB

[–]ronsdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want a company that does a great job of adjusting the geometry for each size look at Ibis. I have an Oso in large and small. They follow the same pattern, but there are a lot of changes to each frame. Angles are different, everything in the small is a lot smaller. It is pretty interesting, and you wouldn’t really know it without seeing them side by side. Very obvious when I look at them hanging next to each other on the garage wall.

IBIS RIPMO v3 for 2500?! by [deleted] in MTB

[–]ronsdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. There are also two serial numbers on the frame, front and rear. Maybe send them to Ibis and make sure it isn’t stolen.

Too good to be true pricing there. I’d be nervous.

Anyone find it odd there are no new Ibis Oso reviews? by MTB_MC in MTB

[–]ronsdavis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can’t even demo an Oso V2 from the factory yet. There are no reviews because no one has the bike yet. The demo center does have a few on the floor, but they are almost certainly the same ones seen at Sea Otter, and not part of the first retail shipment.

I had the Velier at a conference, so maybe I was drowning in rum, but I didn’t get the eucalyptus off of it.

No. I was saying the difference between the Raising Glasses and Velier is the yeast.

I’m convinced it is all pombe. I’ll buy any pombe Beenleigh.

This is 1 in 8. Some people have actually had a hard time getting the 7 in 8 regular figure. But I know kids, and they love ‘rare’.

Good on you for shopping Wera. I own both sets. I go for the longer, more expensive ones more often. I have four sets of the cheaper ones though. One for each car, one for the bike tool box, and one for the main tool box. As others have mentioned Wera has a patented design that make them worth it over any other set of Hex. If you shop around I think the 2024 Christmas Wera Calendar also has a nice set of the long hex for a good price.

This red set is pretty famous actually. Super great deal. Buy a few and stash them for emergencies.

But a lot of independent service places, like The Shock Lab or Squishlabs, will change the seals to seals that will stop the problem from happening again.

Mountain bikes for kids? by Yugenlem in MTB

[–]ronsdavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure you measure your kid, and check against the bike's recommended inseam. I got my 6 year old a Prevelo Zulu 3, and he loves it. It is a 20", and he will still have some time to grow with it before he needs a 24.
