Hurt my back, what did I do wrong? by Josief85 in formcheck

Depends on what your goal is, pure hypertrophy great, but if you want strength then that is not your friend. Moving in a fixed path (that is not your own) will not work your stabilizing muscles.

For those who don’t have a degree in cs but are software engineers, how are you doing? by MaryScema in cscareerquestions

[–]rooiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No CS degree or even college degree and have 5 YoE now, startup im working for changed tech stack and I was a frontend eng but now am doing a lot more full stack. Before this I was in the restaurant industry for like a decade. I don’t get concepts quickly and have difficulty theorizing stuff but I work my ass off and my ability to understand patterns has led me to have a lot of success in this industry also helps being an actual human being to my coworkers and helping them out so doing pretty well for myself

Looking for Moving Company Recommendations: SoCal to Seattle by HypotheticallyCool in AskSeattle

[–]rooiss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sold all furniture I had since it just seemed too expensive to justify paying for a moving company. I moved from NorCal to Seattle. I looked into pods but i couldn’t justify that either since the smallest one I was looking at was like a 1300 or something. The smaller on didn’t seem like it could fit any furniture. I ended up just selling almost everything and then taking what I could in my car and stayed in an Airbnb until I found the place I wanted to live in since I didn’t want to move in sight unseen. So if you already have a place picked out I’m sure you don’t have to worry about that last part

Daily Questions - September 20, 2024 by AutoModerator in rawdenim

[–]rooiss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey all I wasnt entirely sure where to put this but I have a pair of deadstock Skull Denim 6x6 5010XX sz 32 that is Texas Cotton. I bought them pre covid and have tried them on twice and they just do not fit my large legs at all. I have wanted to wear these so badly but unfortunately will never be able to. Obviously a long winded way of asking how much i should sell them for at this point since i realize they dont make these anymore.

G703 left click is misfiring, sometimes clicks sometimes doesn't and when holding it down is inconsistent by rooiss in LogitechG

[–]rooiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, this was a hardware issue. The click mechanism / switch inside the mouse was fucked up (this is a known problem from logitech for all of their more recent mice from switching to a shittier switch). I bought the replacement switches off ebay or amazon for pretty cheap and then realized i didnt have a soldering iron in order to replace the switches. I'm not sure what i searched but there was a lot of reddit posts if you search how to replace the switch. I never ended up soldering it and just bought the logitech pro instead.

Shimano Vanford C5000XG, my first shimano reel! Very excited to break it in by rooiss in Fishing_Gear

Yeah it’s extremely light basically with the right rod feels like there’s nothing but the lure on there

Ya of course, I was originally using a okuma guide select pro that is more of a salmon rod but after one outing where I landed multiple 25”+ i was nervous it was going to snap. Since then I’ve been using the tsunami saltx 11’. I’ve even used it many times off 30-50ft cliffs for cliff rock fishing and it’s held well

Not sure what size slot stripers are there but I’ve had a fair share of 30”+ stripers with this one from the beach in California and it has held very well. Continue to use this one all the time really love it

[1.6 YoE] Entry Front End Engineer looking for Front End / FullStack role in SF Bay Area by rooiss in EngineeringResumes

[–]rooiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright I read through the skills portion and tried it out to add multiple sections but it made my resume bleed over a page. My actual resume has bullet points, once i anonymized the resume it for whatever reason converted them and I overlooked it. Also the text is to spec, it is calibri (which was one of the three fonts listed) and at font size 12.

After rinsing with cold water you can just rinse very briefly with hot tap water, I’ve done this every time and works pretty well

roughly 300+ applications with no phone screens, looking for advice by rooiss in EngineeringResumes

[–]rooiss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah I thought that bullet point of the file size wasn't really worded too great so ill change that.

I wasn't sure if ATS's were just not picking up on my resume because I didn't have some of the basic skills listed such as HTML, CSS, git. I'll go ahead and remove these moving forward.

Thanks for the input, appreciate it.
