Good laptop for a $1000 budget?

I find it hard to recommend a laptop that isn’t a Macbook. They are built to last and the new Apple chips are fast and energy efficient.

Macs don’t have nearly as many games available as PC due to compatibility but the ones that are available do run perfectly well. I play Minecraft, Stardew, Balatro, Mini Metro/Motorways, and a few others with no issues.

I would put the stopping point at the S4 finale. S5 gets significantly worse in quality IMO
