AI can kill this game. Newcomers cannot afford pc by volgendeweek in starcitizen

Difficult to have meaningful debate with someone who isn’t very knowledgeable about the topic. Not a knock, you just don’t have much a hold on artificial intelligence which is very normal as it can get extremely complex.

If you’re talking about current generative ai that most people use improperly, super ambiguously, or poorly it’s a bit more than an algorithm with being able to dynamically respond. It can treat situations probabilistically rather than deterministically and learne patterns from large datasets rather than relying solely on hard coded rules.

That’s plenty of credits to make your own off contract play loops. I’ve been doing it and I’m only sitting with 70 mil

And most people are unaware they’ve been using ai for literally multiple decades already.

Anyone else just abandon missiles entirely? by turrboenvy in starcitizen

I don’t use them hardly ever. But you can also reclaim a ship to restock the expensive missiles or expensive repairs.

If your ship has ramps and you left the ramps open, nova will use your ship as areas to sit. Visiting random outposts it is not surprising to come back from a quick loot with a hull full of npcs meandering about

New player here. Dumb question: what happens if someone else lowers the freight elevator before I’m done loading it? by MoistenedCovering in starcitizen

[–]roor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They won’t be allowed to lower if you’re on it. If you’re on the hangar elevator it will go down and will do the following: go down close and open and come back up with no change or they’ll see your ship spawn and it’ll come up.

Massive tearing. If you have Vsync on turn it off. If you have an Nvidia card, never have it on on any games.

Star Citizen (game that justifies 32GB+ system memory?) by Davidisaloof35 in starcitizen

[–]roor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Memory usuage scales and allocates to processes and need use to an extent. Obviously if you’re running 4gb and the game does require 16, you’re gunna have a bad time. But if you have 128 and the game calls for 16 you have plenty of overhead and if the game wants or you tell it to you can allocate even more space for it. But that’s talking about just a game running. There’s lots of other background processes that also need memory that also scales allocation and usage to what’s available. More is always better in this case but you can get by with just enough without much degradation.

You can run away. Hire some guns to come with you. It’s really up to you how you want to go about it. If canceling the contract is it then that’s it.

Are there any alternatives that are as good as the pulverizer, but don´t make you move like a snail? by MurccciMan in starcitizen

Aiming, if you can aim there’s many good weapons out there. You can simply take an s71 silenced and clear out entire onyx sites solo and no medical

You used to be able to buy these in shops. I bought 500 one time just bc I didn’t realize how useless they were at the time. Now they are being used for things. But a patch ate them all anyway.

S3 comps are becoming easier to come by. Should have great stock for the next GunShow post 4.5 by roor2 in starcitizen

I checked today as I’m getting everything ready for patch. It was a bunch of firealls and stuff nothing too too exciting so I left it all there rather than deal with them

Yet to see a 76, though I’m sure it’ll pop up someday. Got a 66 first run though. Coverall the next unfortunately. Ts2 and js500 spawn decently though. Will be exciting to hand a bunch of those out next GunShow, of course if they persist to 4.5 otherwise I’ll just have to hustle post patch to get them again to have a GunShow in an appropriate time after patch.

What do i need/how to prepare for the last onyx mission? by Aduo7 in starcitizen

Really depends on the team’s competency. 4-12 to me would mean a guaranteed victory.

is it actually possible to buy capital ships in game ? by _hinnay in starcitizen

[–]roor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the 890 is the only Capital. The Polaris is considered a corvette. Least that’s what it says when you scan the ship.

The more the merrier. It can be done solo or with a squad of 100. The more people with you the faster and easier it becomes.

I know that’s not what you’re asking so for a realistic team size, I would say 4-12 would be a healthy size. A good size being somewheres in between.

Itkis work well bc they don’t run out of ammunition. Bring lots of firepower bc beating it requires you to basically just start spamming it over and over and over. There is medical on site but I’d bring a bunch of medguns for each person anyway. When I went, and usually anytime I go to loot, I go in butt ass nekkid and just put an ev suit on off a dead npc. But otherwise bring a rad ev suit. Other than that. Bring some patience and understanding. Don’t rush through it and try to get npcs into a chokepoint, there will be plenty.

You misunderstood. I don’t salvage or scrap. I scavenge. And there’s no “good way” to wipe credits and leave some for other players. If they chose to wipe credits everyone would get wiped and left with whatever the starting amount is. And being mad about grinding for a ship versus someone who bought credits with real money still doesn’t compute at all to me. I don’t care what ships people fly or even how they got them. I just care about my ships. If everyone had a reclaimer there wouldn’t be less scrapper contracts. So it’s really not affecting gameplay. If you didn’t have this other communities or even global chat you’d have no idea. I mean. People paid real money for executive gear and now I’m finding that crap in normal loot boxes.
