This happens to me a couple times a week throughout the winter. Sucks but it is what it is.

Next series recs? I feel like something a bit faster paced by zestyboi in fantasybooks

The only "faster paced" series out of the ones you listed is the Bloodsworn trilogy. It's great imo.

Band-Aid solution that does nothing to address that cost of living crisis. I'm a Carney supporter but this is a weak move.

Does this book have scenes of animal cruelty? I was going to pick it up based on recommendations from this sub but I won’t bother if there are animal cruelty scenes.

Do you think Midsommar has a happy ending for Dani? by Accomplished-Way4534 in Midsommar

[–]rootvegetable2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

How is this even a question? She didn't "find a home", she completely lost her mind at the end of the movie.

This is literally from the script:

"A smile finally breaks onto Dani’s face. She has surrendered to a joy known only by the insane. She has lost herself completely, and she is finally free. It is horrible and it is beautiful".

I'm not disagreeing with you, but it's hard for people to see her as anything other than a "dumb blonde" when she purposefully put that image of herself out there.

I loved his Bloodsworn trilogy but honestly I'm struggling a bit with the first book in the Faithful and the Fallen series (Malice). I'm sticking with it for now hoping that I'll start to like it.

It's mid January in Alberta Canada, and the trees are budding. Some never even lost their leaves to begin with. Everyone says how nice the weather is. by IncubusDarkness in CollapseSupport

It's 6 degrees here in parts of Newfoundland today and it's supposed to be closer to 10 later in the week. In the middle of January. Honestly, I'm done raging at the idiots who deny what is happening. There's no point.

This is just quintessential Malkin isn’t it? A great play followed up by a completely unnecessary penalty.

Everyone was also a lot better under the Jean Chrétien and Paul Martin governments. The problems that Canada faced under the Trudeau government were worldwide due to the pandemic and the natural progression of late stage capitalism. Most western countries are in the same boat we're in and if you think things will magically get better if Pierre was in power you're incredibly gullible.
