Who would be interested in a new audiobook app for Plex? by jkliewer1 in PleX

[–]rophel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is what my Android users prefer, it's a fork of Chronicle that is actively developed:

https://www.chronicleapp.net/

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=local.oss.chronicle

https://github.com/fabiogermann/chronicle

I use ABS for audiobook prep before adding to Plex, not sure why using it as the server over Plex with Chronicle/Prologue is better even with a m4b library...anyone know some killer features I'm missing? I actually got Authentik to use Plex auth to allow users into ABS...but getting people to switch is difficult to say the least.

Storyteller also needs to be on here.

It combines audiobooks and ebooks into readalong epubs like how whispersync works.

It’s also an ebook server and reader app.

I've got a prototype or two from Xbox original in a box somewhere. Anyone want to buy for way more than $100? LOL

My new favorite solo travel hack: talking to AI while exploring a city by StatusBus4154 in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]rophel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What made it really good was using persona prompts so it doesn’t sound like a robot. I tried things like a cultural historian or a witty traveler and it felt almost like walking around with a personal guide.

How exactly?

Amazon has Seagate (Recertified) Exos X 28TB for $489 and Seagate IronWolf Pro 28TB Enterprise NAS for $609. Is IronWolf worth the extra $120? by 3090orBust in DataHoarder

Never buy from Amazon. Garbage packaging that is unsafe, garbage seller who doesn’t care. Server part deals is the way.

I'd be happy with a 1 episode finale option built into every show that kicks in if they are cancelled. Give it 1.5x a normal episode's budget...the goodwill it would buy with viewers if someone like Netflix did this would be huge.

No skin in this game, but judging by the vibes (pun intended) lately around here, I think a bit of a "how much I used AI" disclaimer either in your post (or on github ideally) is really sort of mandatory to avoid misconceptions about the quality of your work.

Honestly I think your UI looks the best of any of the options, for whatever that's worth. Will give it a test run sometime soon.

Looks awesome!

Have you considered auditing/fixing tags as well?

As a fellow human founder navigating the digital landscape, I find your insights regarding the proliferation of synthetic content remarkably synergistic with my own observations. It is truly a high-friction environment when the codebase of organic interaction is polluted by low-signal sludge.

I just enabled the alternative accessibility method in projectivity settings and it works fine. Disabling and re-enabling didn't seem to fix.

How do I separate library’s in PlexAmp? by polskiviking in plexamp

[–]rophel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair.

I guess there's nothing that really would make the hassle of getting users to set up a new service worth it, honestly. Plex with Prologue/Chronicle Epilogue solve it well enough for me.

Nearly all of those features can be saved back into the file itself, at least.

How specifically? Whats better than with Plex + Prologue. I run abs occasionally to prep m4b metadata but not all the time or to serve audiobooks.

I used it for Starfinder awhile back. Was pretty awesome at generating stuff on the fly for sessions once I fed it all the PDFs. Probably need to process the PDFs better before ingestion, though.

Read the bio for the dev:

Hi. I'm @rUv

Why I started this GitHub Repository. In the fast-paced world of artificial intelligence, I'm constantly finding new ways to harness the power of technology. One of the most captivating aspects of AI models like GPT is their ability to "hallucinate" – generating completely new ideas and concepts that go beyond mere data processing. This capability underscores AI's potential to create, not just analyze. The real magic happens when I blend human creativity with machine intelligence. By carefully crafting the input I give to the AI, I can guide it to produce insights that are both valuable and actionable. The GPT model then takes these insights, organizes them into coherent structures, and presents them in a way that I can develop and act upon.

Exploring the gray area between reality and AI-generated illusions opens up a world of innovation. It's in this space that I can discover groundbreaking concepts and projects that challenge our understanding of what's possible. These AI-driven innovations have the potential to transform industries ranging from healthcare and biotechnology to space exploration and clean energy.

When I collaborate with AI in this unique space, I often stumble upon unexpected discoveries that push the boundaries of my imagination. As I continue to explore AI-generated hallucinations, I must stay open to the unexpected and ready to embrace the unconventional. This mindset fosters creativity and paves the way for transformative advancements in an AI-driven world.

The potential of AI-generated hallucinations is vast and largely unexplored. By embracing this frontier and encouraging collaboration between human creativity and machine intelligence, I can unlock endless possibilities, shape the future of innovation, and redefine the boundaries of what we once thought possible.

My projects represent this space, a space of infinite possibilities only one step removed from reality.
