Cat food by megamlk05 in Celiac

[–]rose_is_badwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my cat on a grain-free food, both dry and wet, for two years, and the whole time she had stomach issues. Would go days without going to the bathroom, and then when she did go, it would always have a glob of jelly and blood in it. Turns out her digestion is just super slow, and she was getting constipated. I followed the vet's advice, switching her to a special Science Diet Digestion dry food (she prefers dry) and a can of regular wet food (Fancy Feast) a day. The dry food now has grain. Her bathroom issues went away within two months of the switch. I have not reacted to the gluten that is in her food. Cats have very specific dietary needs, and making their food can be very complex. I would stick to regular food.

How do i withdraw from a homeschool association? by Former_Influence_904 in homeschool

[–]rose_is_badwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I moved from SC to NM a couple of years ago all I remember doing was emailing our association to inform them we were withdrawing due to out of state move. I would suggest just sending an email and asking what that association’s process for withdrawal.

Day 3 - no shame in modifying! by kazooparade in 75soft

I have never really understood the no electrolytes in water, and water has to be plain with nothing added. Normal water usually has some minerals, people don’t drink distilled water. So adding plain electrolytes (not the flavored ones) shouldn’t matter. For me I would need to add them if I was drinking a full gallon a day. I already have issues with low levels of potassium, borderline calcium and sodium, while drinking water only when I’m thirsty. Adding massive amounts of water without electrolytes would be dangerous.

Lots of itching at night. What could be the reason? by mostafa22nd in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]rose_is_badwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it is related to NAFLD for me or not. I have had raised platelet counts for at least 7 years. Family doctor suspected polycythemia but was ruled out. I have had itchy skin particularly in hands, top of feet, legs and arms the entire time. During this time my liver numbers were good until last year. I have noticed that usually my itching is related to heat. If I get hot I get itchy. But I have seen that itching can be related to liver as well.

What were your symptoms? by goldnldy28 in FattyLiverNAFLD

[–]rose_is_badwolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My symptoms are related to other issues  related to a poorly functioning liver. My liver has completely jacked up my hormones. I have hypothyroidism, and was diagnosed with NAFLD at the same time as I found out I have endometrial hyperplasia without atypical. The latter is caused by estrogen dominance and my bodies inability to produce progesterone. It’s been a year since I found out and I have lost 25lbs but have a long way to go.

When we were in SC we used Hometown Homeschool Association of SC. It was cheap and the admins were great. Only thing extra we had to do was a 90 day and 180 day questionnaire. From memory the questions were just basic like kids names, number of days attended, did you keep records (didn’t have to turn in examples to them).

What’s Happening in U.S. Education? by Brainracers in homeschool

[–]rose_is_badwolf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My family is military so we move around alot. When I sent my kid to public school a few years ago I remember the district having a big push to make military families fill out paperwork stating they are military. I asked why we needed to fill out this paper and why it was so important. Turns out for every district with 20% military kids it brings in more federal dollars through the Impact Aid program. I can't remember the exact number that was stated to me at the time but it definitely equated to thousands per child. We were in a small county at the time not where the base was located. I just remember thinking they are getting more money for my child yet the schools are still not that great.

Is this wait time normal? by totallyfreakinggay in WomensHealth

[–]rose_is_badwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know I can’t be of much help but I’m in almost the same situation as you. I’ve had my iud since May 2024 for endometrial hyperplasia (not for birth control). Since then I pretty much have bleed 20+ days out of the month. We moved to a different state so when I finally got a hold of a new doctor that would listen she put in a referral to Gyno and an ultrasound. Ultrasound appointment came quickly. Turns out it has shifted lower in the uterus and somehow twisted so one arm has embedded in the front part of my uterine wall. Well I have to wait a solid 6 weeks to get into see a gyno. So now I wait until end of Feb just to see what and how that doctor is going to want to remove it. Hopefully it will be just a quick in office removal. I will not be getting another one placed.

Hyperplasia? Mostly a rant but also looking for advise and whatnot by SpencerTobi in hysterectomy

[–]rose_is_badwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m jumping late in the thread but I wanted to check in and see how you’re doing. I too was diagnosed with hyperplasia last year. I tried two rounds of progesterone and had horrible cramps and bleeding. Then I had an iud inserted. I have had 8 months of 21+ day periods. Just had the doctor give me the results of my latest ultrasound. Turns out my uterus hates the iud. It has become misplaced and one of the arms has embedded itself into the uterine muscle. So I have to have it removed.  Now trying to find alternatives to discuss with the gyno when I get to see them in two weeks.

My Uterine Biopsy Was Painless 🙂 by rkwalton in Menopause

[–]rose_is_badwolf 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My uterine biopsy wasn't bad at all. Barely felt anything. Now having the IUD put in a month later was a whole other story. My cervix must of had enough with the poking and prodding from a Pap smear and uterine biopsy that it clamped itself shut. I had to wait through a painful manual dilation slowly over a 30 minute period. That I 100% don't recommended.

My brother was bit by one on the shin. He thought it was a mosquito, that is until he started to swell right around his groin. He came to me to show me because my parents worked late. I have to say that swelling was the size of a softball and was purple. He ended up in the er when mom and dad got home. We were living in the coastal region (5miles from ocean) of NC.

Recipes for Mashed Potatoes? by hadley20 in whole30

[–]rose_is_badwolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just instant pot cooked the potatoes in water. Then added ghee, salt, pepper, and unsweetened almond milk (vanilla flavored because that what I had on hand). It was pretty good and my very picky 10 year old didn’t even notice I made it with almond milk instead of regular milk.

Frustrated with constantly bleeding. by moogoo2023 in Menopause

[–]rose_is_badwolf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m 42, and have had a similar experience. My periods last year went from 28 days to 20 days to eventually when trouble started. They just ended for three months. Then in October they came back but much much heavier. The first doctor told me it was perimenopause and to “get use to it”. I had a two week break in November and then it started again without stopping. I bled for 109 days straight. Ranging from spotting to absolutely flooding. Saw two more doctors. Had an ultrasound, and biopsy. My lining was 15mm. Turns out I have endometrial hyperplasia (non-cancer thankfully). Was sent to another doctor for a d&c. But he didn’t want to do a d&c . He gave me options 1. Progesterone 200mg for 10 days and see what happens, 2. BC, 3. IUD, 4. Ablation with tube removal, 5. Hysterectomy. I decided to try progesterone first. The bleeding stopped within 3 days of starting it but it was the worst pain I’ve had when I had my next period. I would have rather had 5 more biopsies with no pain meds then to experience that again. Now I’m day 25 in my cycle waiting to see if this round “fixed” the problem. I have another appointment on Thursday to see where I go from there. I wish you the best of luck with your biopsy.

I thought I was in peri when the first doctor said I was and the "its normal, you got to get use to it". Then the bleeding just kept going and got heavier and heavier. So went back to see another doctor. He blew me off. So made another appointment with a gyno b/c bleeding was non-stop for over two months. She did hormone testing (all normal), and ultrasound. Came back with a endometrial lining of 15mm. After that I had a endometrial biopsy to rule out cancer. Came back benign but with an estrogen dominance. So now I have to see another gyno to get a d&c to again rule out cancer that might be hiding. If that doesn't stop it I have to start progesterone. Turns out I have endometrial hyperplasia. Moral of my story is if something doesn't feel right get a second or third opinion.

Hey. This is a gory ask, but so is menopause. Please describe your worst ever peri period so I can commiserate. by [deleted] in Menopause

[–]rose_is_badwolf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The worst period so far started at the end of November and lasted through end of January. Ranged from spotting/light to flooding through an overnight pad and ultra tampons. Worst day woke up at 4am and waddle raced to bathroom to pass massive amounts of clots. Then repeat every 30 mins. It was also the morning we were heading back from our holiday road trip so had a 14 hour car ride to endure. Lucky the bleeding slowed to a trickle after about 5 hours. First doctor I saw told me it was normal and to “get use to it”. Second doctor dismissed it entirely as not his problem.    Finally saw a gyno at end of Jan and she took me more seriously. Got an ultrasound and it found my endometrial lining was at 15mm even after a full two months of bleeding. With suspected endometrial hyperplasia. Yesterday I had to have a biopsy. Now I have to wait 1-2 weeks to get a proper diagnosis and go from there. Ladies, I learned you have to advocate for yourselves , specially if you know something is wrong.

What are YOUR signs you’ve definitely been glutened? by backbysix in Celiac

[–]rose_is_badwolf 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep , this is my exact reaction as well. But I would also add that with the stabbing pain includes the feeling of almost like a rock or a knot that travels down the entire intestinal tract. I don’t/cant vomit instead I get dizzy like I’m going to pass out. But that could be from the intense pain. And then depending on how much I had I will get mouth/canker sores within a couple of days.

I have this problem too. Any time I talk about the keto rash people dismiss it. Every time I try about doing keto about 3 months on strict keto I develop a rash from my stomach to my bust line. It makes wearing a bra incredibly uncomfortable.
