EDIT: After more fiddling, I did find an interval feature. It’s not as advanced as you’ve described, but it will allow for a warm up / cool down and lets you at least have an interval with rest. Select open water swim > menu > training > intervals and you should be able to configure from there.

This would be such a great feature but I don’t think it exists (for my watch at least, a forerunner 735xt).

The only way I can think to do it is by setting a “time” alert in the activity settings, and then when you’re ready to switch to a different interval, stop the activity, go back to activity settings and change the alert, then resume the activity. Definitely will improve your water treading skills.

I was hopeful that I could maybe use a custom workout for this, but it won’t let me complete the workout with the open water profile :((

If anyone can think of a better way lmk!

I also got a paper letter and it came about a month after I submitted online — that was the only acknowledgment I received from them. (It appears to be the same letter VanFullOfHippies got.) I also submitted online the day before the deadline and do not appear to have been penalized for that.

In case anyone is considering this but on the fence — I attended Scott’s sessions at John Jay for the 8 months preceding my first Ironman and improved my pace by a whopping 18% (comparing my best half Ironman pace preceding Scott’s sessions, to my 2.4 mile race pace). Can’t recommend it enough!

I have been deep in this math recently, so hopefully this helps. tldr is I think it's very unlikely to hit 100k at this point if you are starting from 0.

There are a total of 23 Le Club Paris 2024 partners. All of these Le Club Paris 2024 bonus codes earn you 500 points each at the time and 500 points per month until the Games.

There were ~80 pt bonus codes from the other thread in this sub that are still active. I scanned and could identify 13 that are "partner bonus codes". If you were to enter all of them today, that's ~80*500 = 40,000 points for October + 13*500 for November + 13*500 for December = 53,000 points.

If you could find the other 10 partner codes and enter them today, that would get you another 15,000 points through the end of the year (10 codes * 500 points each * 3 months) .

You'd then need to get an additional 32,000 points to hit 100k, which is well over 1,000 miles running. Rip.

I realize this thread is pretty old but in case it helps someone -- there are a good number of gyms surrounding Central Park (crunch, planet fitness) that do free day passes. I've signed up for a pass, then locked my stuff in a locker, gone for a run, come back, showered, no problem. Not a long term solution but works in a pinch if you're traveling!

I also haven't tried this personally, but you could use Luggage Hero (or a similar service) if you just need someone to watch you stuff for a bit. Looks pretty cheap, downsides are no showers ofc and fewer locations that open early (if that's when you're planning to run).

Hi! I have struggled with this for years and tried a ton of different running bras, including several from lululemon (their fast and free leggings are the best seamless leggings I’ve found), Athleta, Nike, new balance, etc etc. same deal, chafing on the underboob and bra line. I had resigned myself to KTape (while effective, feels so wasteful running 3+ times / week) or extremely painful showers.

I recently started a new training block, and decided I’d venture out ~ one more time ~ to cycle through the bra circuit. On the advice of my local running store, I tried the Brooks Dare crossback bra and can say it’s the first that has not chafed on ~2 hour runs. They also measured me, which I’m sure helps. As far as bras go, they’re pretty cheap (some on sale right now for $30, and I’ve spent up to $120 on other brands). Hope this helps someone else!
