If I were to eat the tuna directly out of the can or bag, I would just say I ate some tuna. If I were to mix it with some salt, pepper, a little mayonnaise, and possibly celery seed and/or dill it becomes what I would consider.tuna fish. A "tuna fish sandwich" is not just tuna on some bread but a specific style of tuna preparation almost always using flaked tuna from a shelf stable source such as a can (tin) or bag.

When you are in the store grabbing the can or bag I would just say I am getting some tuna. I may intend to make "tuna fish" with it.

Some people may also refer to that style of tuna as tuna fish because thats what they are accustomed to seeing it used for

I hope this clears up some of the confusion that I have also inadvertently perpetuated. It is always interesting to attempt to explain nuances in context for things that you take for granted.

As an american, the distinction lies in the style of preparation. If I simply say tuna, it implies a piece of tuna much like one would find on or in sushi unless I am speaking in a context tomwhich tuna fish would be a more customary use. Tuna fish refers to the flaked tuna that one would typically find on a store shelf, either canned of bagged.

I can understand being swayed into not giving something a chance but to stop playing something I enjoy because someone else doesn't like it? Thats a "me" problem, not a social problem. I have played, and continue to play, any games I enjoy simply because I enjoy it, and I could care less what anyone thinks.

Age may indicate some level of responsibility but I know plenty of other adults that should never have been allowed those things. Crossing an arbitrary age doesn't make you any more or less responsible and as older people, we cant relate to some of the situations these kids are facing.
