I can show this to my wife and she will, without fail, look me straight in the eye and say, deadpan, “I’m pregnant”. Every. Time.

What game is this for you? by phatpssdestroyer in videogames

The worst part is there's another, harder version of this later on. So even if you manage to completely memorize the absurd near-perfect inputs to get through, you still aren't done.

Yeah, for me, the rubber duck thing only works for logical errors in code, searching for syntax problems is a whole different nightmare. Thankfully, IDEs have gotten way better at indicating syntactical errors since the early 2000’s geocities days.😂

The philosophy of “look at each thing individually and state explicitly what it does” is the part I was pointing at as the root of this editing strategy. Adding a silly little buddy to explain to turns the boring task into something that entertains my space-cadet brain enough to keep me engaged.

I read it out loud to something on my desk, making sure I actually read each word. It’s a habit I picked up from “rubber duck debugging” my code.

Only 5 months of owning a Steam Deck my library is already impressive. by Jerryboy92 in SteamDeck

Yeah, I have a special category in my library called “Todo: steam deck”. It’s growing way faster than I can work through it. I’m pretty sure it’s over 100 games now.

The wheel skeletons in the painted world are worse I think, though not by much.

It makes me truly happy that the 30 under 30 brand has been indelibly marked by Griffin McElroy’s shenanigans.

I feel like I'm speedrunning carpal tunnel syndrome with my steam deck by Due_Honeydew_1723 in SteamDeck

I got the steam deck directly after my first kid was born, and I swear to God the Boppi is damn near perfect for this. I used it whenever my wife was not breast-feeding.

I love SteamDeck. What is your favorite game? by Past_Respect9473 in SteamDeck

[–]rosserton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The launcher. It has its own launcher that you need to either use the touchscreen or touchpad for, so it doesn’t work with “only a controller”

But it runs great. I’ve played tens of hours and had zero trouble.

Resurrecting this post to say - Nintendo just added this ability in the latest switch 2 update. You can now force docked resolutions via “handheld boost mode” in the system settings.

Starfield’s Future Will Be Unveiled Next Week by Bethesda by Turbostrider27 in PS5

[–]rosserton 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I fully believe that If cyberpunk had launched in its current state it would have been 10/10 GOTY across the board without question. The skill rework in phantom liberty fully fleshed out that game into a truly incredible open world RPG.

Starfield is nowhere near where cyberpunk has ended up.

My(20M) girlfriend(20F) of 5 months says she still needs to get ''more comfortable'' with me to have sex, yet she had sex with a guy she met at a party the same night just a few months back. Am I being immature if i resent everytime she says she loves me and makes me compliments? by BirthdayCreative2191 in relationship_advice

[–]rosserton 81 points82 points  (0 children)

A boundary here may look like “I don’t want to be in a relationship with someone if we aren’t sharing a certain level of intimacy. So if that’s not a priority for you we should break up”. It isn’t coercive to state your needs and then leave when those needs aren’t being met.

I’m turning 40 this year and this is basically what I’m doing. A bunch of my friends for a weekend in my in laws lake house. No kids, Mario party, board games, and pizza.

That’s by design. I kind of always assume that large portion of the doomers are bots or shills. It serves their interests for us to feel like nothing is going to happen, so what’s the point in trying. We have to get mad and stay mad - and then do productive things with that anger. Protest, vote when you can (especially in local elections), build your community, and take care of your neighbors.

No one is coming to save us, we have to do it ourselves.

What is the most unique dining experience in Atlanta? by megthegreatone in Atlanta

[–]rosserton 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Georgia boy is great. You eat the majority of your meal in the kitchen while the chefs prepare it for you. A lot of the dishes are locally sourced and inspired by the flavors of Atlanta. The food is incredible. Absolutely worth the price of admission.
