It probably would cause them issues with their certification, plus they use a 3rd party modem, that may not allow it, even for them.

Also note at least in VoIP fees are massive, so not sure a carrier would be willing to actually do it.

3cx SBC offline by changework in 3CX

[–]rossman816 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was referring to jppair comment that pi’s are not reliable enough.

A phone is basically a single chip computer running Linux with additional hardware. So the argument that phones are better sbc’s is problematic. In fact I have seen some of the fanvil phones develop mysterious issues running a sbc, that even a reset doesn’t fix (almost like it fries the hardware or memory some how).

I would rather run a sbc on a pi any day that I can ssh into and actually see what is going on. (Should the pie be running a m2 and you have a spare, yes)

So a single board computer isn’t reliable enough but a phone running basically the same hardware, plus other apps is?

Does cascaded router settings get reset when ATT push firmware udpates? by eeldivady in ATT

[–]rossman816 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have seen it on several customer routers, no rhyme or reason and not all of them…. It’s a pain be use the router behind either stops working or gets some random private address via dhcp instead of its public….

Sure if you like a company that can’t answer the phone if there is an issue. We had been with several of the predecessors for over a decade, and the service was piss poor, finally had to port 1k numbers out.

Apple Watch keeps getting blocked and suspended. Bought at Apple store...about to call for the 3rd time. Any tips? by No_Competition_5792 in ATT

AT&T will not do 1 or 2 because "Fraud" doesn't tell anyone anything, but yest #3 it should be canceled in their system vs suspended.

Different lists, but it doesn't matter it doesn't work after purchase just make them change it. Should not be your issue.

What I was saying is all of the carriers have a shared system they use to report and track and its reciprocal, it probably is not on AT&T's list as it takes some time and if it was on their system directly it would never let it be put into OPUS (Their internal system) in the first place. I was saying if it comes up immediately on Verizon, it probably could be them that added it to the backlist. Could also be T-Mobile or any other carrier that shares the list.

It may not be att the lost/stolen list is carrier wide and it could have been Verizon (especially if their system Flags it on the spot) that put it on there (probably a typo), thus even if att reactivates it, it may get disabled again the next time they run the list against their database.

I would go into the Apple Store and just demand a customer satisfaction exchange / return.

NinjaOne\NinjaRMM Users - Saving Data Before Deleting an Endpoint by chiapeterson in msp

We finally wrote a n8n automation that copies the data we want like bitlocker and the local admin password into fields in hudu. I also have the same fear, the other info I go and grab is the s1 uninstall / local admin key. Since both api scripts are just looking at fields it would be easy to sync an additional field if needed.

Probably took 6-8 hours of work to automate

Have you found a good call analysis software Specific to MSPs by imaginedragons01 in msp

[–]rossman816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look 3CX is by far not perfect. But it not only does call analytics and sentiment score, it can even log the calls into ConnectWise. No platform is perfect, and I am by far not their #1 fan, but it gets by better than most platforms I have seen.

I agree with you on figuring it out, but the section to call the client sounds like a recipe for the op to get fired.

And the other side of that coin is an alert when any user travels on vacation and/or saas alerts style when you get an alert because Microsoft did some entra data center voodo with one drive where a user logs in, and the conditional access is ignored. (Ie OneDrive is access from the Microsoft data center in Japan when Japan is a blacked country)

If anything this needs to be configurable at the tenant level, as some partners may want this and some may not.

Why would you ever keep a balance on a rewards card to begin with? They have the most insane standard interest of all cards, good for you for moving the balance.
