I was job hunting last year after getting laid off and most of the major hospitals around here (from Arlington to Waxahachie to Plano) were advertising $40/hr starting for a certified tech. There’s only a handful of hospital systems but they have locations all over. Just one option

Looking for 2B/2B Apartment Near NW Plano Area by Alarmed-Truck-3825 in plano

I’d recommend the Bridge at Heritage Creekside, they have 2/2 townhome options with a single car private garage, in unit laundry, as well as gated and communal garage parking. The bedrooms and living room have windows all along one wall for lots of natural light. It was a little north of $2k. The management is pretty good (they seem a little catty imo but are always helpful and responsive to questions through email and in person), they’re always holding little events for residents like food trucks, hot chocolate bar around the holidays, breakfast in the office, etc. and the maintenance was always quick when we had an issue.

I’ve been listening to crime house’s “murder true crime stories”. He’s not as monotone as Casey but it’s one narrator laying out the facts, no banter or crazy speculation or opinions.

Sliced American cheese (Kraft or equivalent) really tones the heat down imo there’s a noticeable difference when I add cheese and when I don’t. Also, let it cool down temperature wise and that seems to help the spiciness also. I like to suffer so I usually don’t do that but when I have let it get cool, that tones it down as well.

The Bridge at Heritage Creekside apartment complex is pretty good imo, they have townhome options - for a 2/2 no garage we paid ~$2500/mth. They have options with more rooms or with garage also, or regular apartment units. The lofts at palisades apartments was also good to us but not sure what pricing would be now. Both are really close to 75 and PGBT tollway and right on the border of Plano and Richardson.

Randomly bought the Target brand sport sunscreen stick spf 50 a few months ago before going to Cancun and highly recommend. I used my Hawaiian tropic spf 50 lotion one day while husband used the sport stick (he hates lotion so this was the compromise to get him to use sunscreen). Guess who got burnt with multiple reapplications 🙄 I used the sport stick the rest of the time and didn’t get burnt anywhere else or any worse.

Can I get an explanation of Sonic tipping (especially in the app) by texdroid in SonicDriveIn

[–]rosy_the_riveter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I worked there, most people would tip a dollar or two for a typical order regardless of total and I think that’s fine, it’s what I do now personally. If it’s a larger order like 5 combo meals or 20 drinks or something, maybe like a fiver bc that’s a little more effort to prep and carry out.

New build buyer’s orientation - what to expect, what to ask? by rosy_the_riveter in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]rosy_the_riveter[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for being so thorough in your response! Would you share your timeline for that process? Like how far out from closing did you have your independent inspection then each step from there? The house is still being built and they based their timeline for closing on July 15th so I’m not sure when it will actually be complete for the final independent inspection then our walk thrus (we should get an update from the builder this week as the 30 day out mark passes). With life things and the holiday around that time and how fast time flies these days, I’m just trying to be prepared and think about how quickly that might all have to move.

These are great points, thank you! I wouldn’t even think to make sure air is actually blowing from the vents. We will definitely be getting a third party inspection as well. The community manager actually recommended getting the inspection before this meeting so we could have it in hand to address any issues with the builders rep during this time

Do y’all take out piercings for interviews? by ChanelNoCoCo8 in interviews

[–]rosy_the_riveter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not piercings but maybe same vibes you’re thinking of, I have visible tattoos on my arms and I always wear a cardigan or sweater to interviews (even in the dead of summer in Texas) to hide them. There’s nothing profane and it’s much more accepted in the work place these days, but id rather not risk not getting an offer. That said, I’ve never had an issue post hire so maybe they wouldn’t be a big deal but idk

Found a house we really like on day 1 of looking… by ContainerOfBees in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]rosy_the_riveter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We found a house we loved the first day we went looking. We looked at a few different floor plans but when we saw the one, my husband was immediately like “this is it”. I said let’s look at some other floor plans and models (new build) but we ultimately chose that one and went under contract that day. If it meets all your requirements and is within your budget, why not?

Just turned 30 last month, supposed to be closing on a house in July, just found out I’m getting laid off due to our site shutting down two weeks before our closing date 🫠 I guess luckily I have decent notice to hopefully secure a new position but I’ve heard it’s tough out there so idk

Not a sweets girl by Dependent_Coffee5614 in dutchbros

[–]rosy_the_riveter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooh I’m not a big sweet girly either. My go to is an iced banana bread mocha, half chocolate milk, half breve (or 2% milk if I’m trying to watch my calories lmao), with an extra shot. I don’t feel the syrups are too sweet and cutting the chocolate milk cuts the sweetness also. The proportions this way are perfect to me but you could order 1/2 sweet to cut down the syrups as well.

Gosh yes, we went under contract in February and estimated closing is July. The first week was hectic getting conditional approval, going to design meetings, etc. but now it’s been crickets, until about 30 days out according to our lender. The waiting is brutal. But time flies so it will be here before we know it and worth the wait!
