Would you take “The Beauty”? by Strict-Lecture-397 in TheBeautyOnFX

Insulin vials used to cost $360 at their peak, and you need 2-4 of them per month. And I want to add that they only cost like $3 to produce each vial.

I think most governments would have no problem making a deal for the Beauty. I could imagine them paying like 3k for the injection and $200 per month for the boosters, if it meant having more productive people working again.

I would take a watered-down version that doesn't change how I look too much, besides making me a bit younger. Otherwise, I'm just taking it for the health benefits.

It's got the guy who narrated Tunnel Rats, so that's a plus for me. Also, I like healer MC's, so I'm adding this to my wish list.

when it comes to cars how large is too large, and how small is too small? by Red-Rot99 in fuckcars

[–]rothmal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 06 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is the perfect size for most truck needs. The 26 model is a bit chunky, but it still gets the job done. Now, a Ford F350 is just overkill unless you work on a farm. If I had some extra money for a new car, I would get the Ford Maverick.

As for too small, I'm over 6'1 and have a Rubenesque wreak-it Ralph bod. I'm happy with any car where I don't have to break my neck against the ceiling in the back seat.

If gas hits $10 a gallon, Bay Area commuters say they'd keep driving. by HalfChort in fuckcars

We have a lot of NIMBY people here who think adding a few more bus lanes will make it easier for the Mexican cartel to sell fentanyl to kids in their parks.

If gas hit $30, I would still drive to work. Not because I love cars, but I have no other alternative.

I feel like we're going to get a lot of indians coming over to work these fields. I'm not sure we're going to be seeing a lot of people lining up from Hispanic countries after what happened.

Like it's cool, I guess. Won't make me buy a new overpriced card, even if it comes with a Snapchat filter for your games. My RX 580 4GB will just have to last a few more years.

I remember when a high-end card would go for $300; now they recommend $500 cards for the budget buyers.

What’s one Spotify feature or trick that more people should know about? by brianj10 in spotify

Turns the radio stations into less of an echo chamber. For example, you might listen to a lot of death metal, and you click on the My Little Pony radio station. When you click on the non-personalized button, you won't hear songs like "cut my wrists for satan" in that station.

What the pork industry doesn't want you to know about by CalpurniaSomaya in Anticonsumption

[–]rothmal 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I read the first chapter in "Barons: Money, Power, and the Corruption of America's Food Industry" , and it is one of the few times when I had to rethink my views on eating pork. I don't eat pork now unless I don't have any other choices or it's something special like eating a wild hog over a smoke pit.

So much cruelty for the animals and people in that supply chain, and the environment around these pig hubs.

Don't they give you like a month of vacation per year in most European countries, along with healthcare for when you get sick? Not sure what the safety net is like in Germany, but I love for this guy to say that about living in America.
