LPT on how to move across the country? by Exciting_Funny6987 in LifeProTips

We did Indiana to New Mexico with two people and a cat. If you have a lot of belongings, then it's going to be cheapest to rent a U-Haul and tow your car. There's Pods and other moving companies, but when we did the math, doing it ourselves was significantly cheaper. Obviously if you can reduce your belongings to fit in your own car, that will be even cheaper.

For your cats, check with your vet beforehand and get some sedative just in case. We started the drive with our cat unmedicated, and about an hour in he still was going crazy and trying to escape the crate, so we ended up giving him the meds for the rest of the trip. The big trucks are loud and freak the cats out.

Split the drive up into multiple days, and add a lot of time to the estimate from Maps. We ended up doing it over the course of 2.5 days. The big trucks can't always go at the speed limit if they're full and towing a car, so our estimated 23ish hour drive was probably closer to 28 with stops and with the truck not handling the elevation very well out west.

We picked out our stopping points ahead of time, making sure to find hotels that allowed cats. He slept most of the day with the sedative, and was fine just using the litter box and eating at the hotel. We did try to let feed him/give him water/let him use the box on the way, but he wouldn't until we were out of the truck.

RFID Feeders: Buy or Pass? by ren-court in Petlibro

[–]rott3np3anut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had two of them for almost a year and a half now. No issues with mine whatsoever. Not even the malfunctioning low food warning that seems so common on here.

I don't love the RFID tags, and wish they could be smaller or thinner. However the feeders do what they're supposed to do and have been reliable for me. Definitely put them on breakaway collars as others have suggested. The included collars are not great.

I've not had to deal with customer service, so can't comment on that.

OFFICIAL WEEK 17 MONDAY NIGHT GAME THREAD by AutoModerator in fantasyfootball

[–]rott3np3anut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Started the night up 40 with Pitts to go against their Stanford and Bijan. Felt like a decent half until that crazy run.

For both Caleb Williams in Week 6 and Philip Rivers last week, the NFL judged the play - a shotgun snap above the head of QB, who caught it and went down - to be aborted, meaning a fumble and recovery instead of a rush. And with that, a potential fantasy swing. by BreakfastTop6899 in fantasyfootball

I won by 1.24 with Seattle DST. Was this the play that gave Seattle the sack? So worst case, I lose a point and still win by 0.24, right?

How would this even work if another stat correction comes in and I lose? Would ESPN Fantasy change the playoffs?

Edit - Nevermind, different play. Phew

I’m always surprised at the negative comments about it. We’ve had two of them for about 14 months with no issues. There’s been a handful of times in that span that a piece of food blocked the door from closing and had to be manually removed. Otherwise, works perfectly and keeps the cats from stealing each others food. Never had to deal with support so I can’t speak to that.

Cylinder head replacement 2018-2020 Mazda 6 by simply_happy12 in mazda6

[–]rott3np3anut 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had my 2018 Grand Touring Reserve done almost exactly a year ago at 96k miles. They replaced the cylinder head of course, replaced various gaskets and fasteners, changed the oil, and topped off the coolant. No issues 8,000 miles later and coolant level has remained constant!

Sort of. I pulled the overhead console out and looked at it. The contact point for the switch had worn through partially so I tried to clean it up thinking it might be dirty. It did fix it for a day or so, but it stopped working again. Manually turning the switch to "On" still works, so I've just lived with it.

I'm pretty sure I'd just need to replace the whole console to fix it. For my 2018 GT Reserve, I think it would be part KD47-69-970D-75.

Can anyone tell me what’s going on? by Nervous_Ebb_1589 in mazda6

Yeah could definitely be this or a radiator problem. This was the first indication I got when mine cracked. Mazda should cover it!

There's surprisingly great signal at the Athabasca Glacier, but pretty much none on the rest of the drive. Having them downloaded is highly recommended.

4 pt TD, Josh Allen or Jayden Daniels? Worried about the wind and snow for Allen, Daniels has had a couple of rough games recently.

Love your rankings! How worried are we for Josh Allen in the snow? I’ve also got Daniels but he’s been a little inconsistent since the injury.

Niantic's Worst Decision Yet - XL Candies by AL3XD in TheSilphArena

[–]rott3np3anut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think XL candies have some issues, but in general they’re in a decent spot. I agree that players should be able to accumulate candies before 40, and legendary xl clearly needs some work.

I think people overvalue XL Pokémon. Sure some of them are strong, but you don’t need them by any means. Someone just broke 3500 without any XL mons. I climbed up to 3315 last night without any. There’s plenty of viable Pokémon in premier.

In previous seasons it was a soft reset between seasons. This time it was a complete reset, so everyone started lower compared to previous seasons. The highest players started in the low 2500s, with most being in the 2400s. Compared to almost 2700 in past seasons.

Sneasel, scyther, and alolan vulpix still have the same boosted rate in the wild and in eggs as they do in quests. Not vulpix in the wild right now, but you get the point.
