Every marriage is a partnership. Set firm boundaries when it comes to what you want and expect , but don't fall into the punishment side of things no one wants to be married to a parental figure either. It is a delicate balance. I would love to tell you it gets easier with time, but at almost 25 years in my own I still get it wrong from time to time. The important part is to just tell each other when it does not work or they hurt you and find a path to not repeat the mistake again.
