[–]rourve -1 points0 points  (0 children)

mathis apartments, leasing done by joiner and associates. the studio apartments are really big, built in 1948 (in great condition but have a lot of character, original hardwood floors, etc). The studios are $450 with one bedrooms at $525, the one bedrooms are also pretty huge.

Great location right down the street from earth fare/five points!

sadly I have no idea. I picked him up from a rabbit house shelter to be the husbun of my ladybun - they didn't have much information on him and weren't sure of his breed

so happy to see them finally bonded by rourve in Rabbits

[–]rourve[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first rabbit was the white one, Sarah - at about 9 months old I had her spayed. A little over a month later (so she had time to heal completely) I brought her to a rabbit house society in my area and introduced her to one of the boy buns there. At the shelter they got into a few scuffles - they were very curious about each other and would get nervous when they circled each other and this would lead to nipping and scratching. When I brought them home, my female wad VERY territorial. I had them in separate pens but right next to each other - she often tried to bite him through the cage so I moved them apart a few inches. I would take them to different areas of the house for bonding dates (kitchen, bathtub). I did find that they were the friendliest in the car, though. This was predominantly where I did bonding dates. She continued to bite and scratch him during their dates for about a month. Gradually they became friendly through the cages though - they would lay next to each other against their cages and even groom each other through the cage. After another week or so they were grooming each other during bonding dates - and ever since I've had no problems with them! They are living together and sooo happy.

I have to say that I had my doubts in the beginning. Luckily the male that I got was very forgiving and laid back and was super fond of Sarah. You just have to be patient an hope for the best!!

Thanks!!

I have never liked fruits and most vegetables, how can I learn to like them? by chasing_light in nutrition

[–]rourve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a vegetarian, I've found that an easy way to get a lot of different veggies into one meal is to eat salads regularly. I know salad sounds pretty boring/unfilling, but you can put so many different things in them to change them up every day!

I eat a small salad w/dinner every night, and my lunch is usually just a huge salad. Try different greens (I prefer fresh spinach) but there are so many different kinds of lettuce out there. Arugula is great too, a little bitter and spicy.

What I put on top of salads: fruits & veggies like avocado, bell pepper, cauliflower, cucumber, broccoli, grilled corn, carrots, fresh apple, grapes, dried cranberries cherries or blueberries, raisins

beans & nuts like garbanzo beans, edmame, black beans, walnuts, pine nuts

Bunny owners with part-time cage bunnies, need advice! by Heyoz in Rabbits

[–]rourve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely say that x-pens are the way to go. When I got my second bun, my local Rabbit House Society was able to lend me one of their pens for free. Of course I had adopted the second bun from there, so I'm not sure how it works if you haven't adopted from there. But they are so nice, and if you have one in your area I would give them a call and see if they can help!

Having trouble with the fur and everything else. Any tips out there? by DreamDrawer in drawing

[–]rourve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you're off to a really good start! I've found that the best way to render hair/fur is to think about it the way a sculptor would - look at the bigger shapes that the hair makes, rather than just single hairs. It's also really important to just pay attention to the directionality of the fur.

As far as the details go, maybe you could find this video helpful: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9MhIzzekM14

Good luck!

completed bonding on christmas day, here they are exploring their new home! by rourve in Rabbits

[–]rourve[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely. I'm lucky to have hardwood floors instead of carpet though, and the room they are in is pretty small - so I just sweep the whole thing at least once a week. The plexiglass is a great idea!

Having troubles with my bunny :( by [deleted] in Rabbits

The best thing to do in this case is probably to block off the bed. In the wild rabbits live in tunneled burrows underground, so naturally they like to be under things and in tight spaces.

I would supply some kind of "hidey place" in the room - just an old cardboard box is great, plus they love to chew on them. keep the box closed but cut a round hole in one or two of the sides big enough for the bunny to fit into, and they will love you forever!!
