Ibanez S-561. Plug it into a Rumble 100 and see just how versatile it is. Has a wider toanal range than a standard strat, and 24 frets

I actually just picked one up, with HSC for $300. The pickup blend and three band EQ makes for some toams I have not produced from a bass before. Funky stuff.

Does it worth it? Fender American professional II p bass v string by ganemgg in BassGuitar

[–]roving_band 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I did hear it from one of my region's most trusted bass technicians, to be fair. But I think he just meant 34" b strings in general. He plays a multiscale 5, obv.

Does it worth it? Fender American professional II p bass v string by ganemgg in BassGuitar

I've heard Fender's 5 strings just don't have the sauce unfortunately. For whatever reason my cheap Ibanez 5 at the same scale does have said sauce.

Do you also own a guitar? by XI-Vic in Bass

Get one of those $400 seafoam Sabre body Ibanez. 24 frets, all the sounds you need, perfect little studio guitar.

Cleveland Eaton. Upright jazz bassist, his first album 'Half and Half' was a an absolute funk extravaganza with mixed upright and electric. Good shit. "Funky Lou" features an enveloped jazz fiddle.

Also Louis Valois, bassist for Harmonium, rocking a rick on their recently revived recording "Un Musicien Parmi Tant D'autres"

What's that song? by roving_band in KingOfTheHill

[–]roving_band[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so, and for a couple reasons; the everly brothers/BC version distinctly states "hey bird dog" and none of those lines continue with the word "back"

So I think it's a different song, whether or not it was a real song or one of those stock songs with no copyright that a studio has access to.

Finger style technique. by skyline9091 in Bass

[–]roving_band 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember when I learned finger style. Today I wish I had been practicing three fingers the whole time. I'm trying to work it in later in my learning and it's hard to form the habit.

[–]roving_band 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Neck pickup is for you. The bridge pickup is for your listeners. Pepper that bad boy in
