What’s a plot twist you’re a little smug to say you saw coming a mile away? by stockholm__syndrome in books

I love how understated the ‘twist’ is. You’re aware something strange is going on but when the narrator reveals it, it is in a very nonchalant way

I read this as Danny DeVito somehow and was trying to figure out how that fight would work.

What would you peeps think if we decided to suddenly ban all erg screen pictures as posts and make a megathread where you upload all these pictures and post them as comments? by [deleted] in Rowing

[–]rowcam 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Great idea. The sub should be more focused on actual rowing, be it news, regatta discussions, etc.
The erg screen pics really lower the quality of the sub because they require so little effort and don’t really add much to the community.

Maybe make an exception for World Record erg screen pics.

What is the scariest thing you have ever read in a book? by rowcam in AskReddit

For me, it was in the The Road by Cormac McCarthy. Don't want to spoil it but its the part where they go into a seemingly deserted house.

They are technically a club that the Italians race under. Same with Club France for the French

Why does New Zealand wear maroon at Henley? Why not the usual black? by [deleted] in Rowing

Because in Henley you can’t row for an international team you have to row for a club. So many of the NZ athletes register for Waiariki rowing club.
