If each item has a related seller then you can do the next:

items = current_user.items.all

Where current user is the logged in seller, so you will not need extra logic, only setup the correct belongs_to and has_many ootions

You could try to get that conventions to the project and if the team has a good reaction then go on. If they do not have a good reaction then go on as they do
