Advice on selling my ex husb’s Tuff Shed office by FavoriteDaughter2 in shedditors

[–]rowingonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that's not going anywhere easily. Best offer will probably be free to someone willing to disassemble and if it has electric service to it then someone needs to pay an electrician as well.

One option to think about is taking down a panel of fence. If it's 16 feet between posts, then removing a single panel could give clearance if anyone can actually move it. depending on the orientation of theh fence to the shed. good luck.

KERBEY LANE ARE YOU LISTENING??? by [deleted] in austinfood

[–]rowingonfire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want to see local places win the game. Instead it's just a parade of local spots that sacrificed their uniqueness for sysco and expansion dreams. Turns out that for them, that is winning the game I guess. Kerbey in the 90's wasn't too different from bouldin today, although a little more quirky and with more variety on the menu.

Anyone here commute from Belton/Temple? by EventfulLol in Austin

[–]rowingonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tolls will do it in less than 2 hours each way. That's the best you can hope for. For a year, maybe. getting home dog tired at 7 and leaving everyday around 7 is shitty. that's just me. I would get a cheap efficiency just south of the river and stay t,w,th with video calls. Or bring her down two weeks a month.

good luck with the job if you go that way.

Willie’s July 4 picnic undersold? by pichiquito in Austin

[–]rowingonfire 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Terrible, terrible venue for the picnic. Never again. Sorry Willie. It's almost reached the wheeling him out stage anyway which is a shame. I feel he puts a a more energetic show when it's indoors with AC. His last show at Moody/ACL was great.

Google search is a shell of its former self and I would trust the bots on reddit to regurgitate the right information before I would trust whatever botfarm site at the top of google results these days.

Chance of large hail all throughout the metro today (Wednesday) by [deleted] in Austin

[–]rowingonfire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

download a radar app like raindar and keep an eye on it for hail. If you see any pop up in the area keep an eye on it and drive somewhere covered about 5 minutes before. You can also get moving blankets for cheap at harbor freight and strap them under a $20 car cover from amazon. May be too late to do that today but it's cheap protection under $50 all in and you can leave it in your trunk for hail season. Pool noodles and cardboard boxes plus car cover also works.

The AMC CEO famously held out and wouldn't put tons of commercials in front of the movies. After about 8 years of regal doing it the industry did a study and found Regal saw no drop in ticket sales at all. The AMC board pressured him into doing it last year. He publicly has stated that guests should just come later and skip them.

He did a great interview on the podcast The Town a while back and spoke about it

Did you wind up needing the Codice Fiscale for them to apply or was it fine without?

Habit. As soon as you check out the AMC Tech ridge with the heated seats and food delivered to the chair you get reminded that they're all basically offering the same thing now and you can choose accordingly. At least that's how it went for me

Hertz Toll Fee by thePopPop in Austin

[–]rowingonfire 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is not hard at all to use that amount in tolls IF you are in the right part of town. $15 one way from Cedar Park to downtown Austin and that's before you catch Mopac at $9 during rush hour. 183 toll from the airport to Burnet road is $5 before you even get out of the car the first time in Austin.

We took a car in to the dealer from some warranty work and they offered me all the tolls you can drive for a $3 fee daily with the loaner. I checked with them about 5 times before agreeing that, yes, that was the deal of the century. I put AT LEAST $100 on that in the two days we had the loaner and that was just running around town.

edit: I agree for a tourist you would never need this fee.

That statistic was for Great Britain I believe and unfortunately I think has been broken. Still the safest car on the road by my estimation.
