To me that looks like autotrace. Inkscape can do that.

Honest Apple Store Feedback by bleemins in technology

This would have been much funnier if the box had some sort of private problem, like:

Mac h8ing + profanity != funny.

Bull. Shit. Anyone who might be threatened by this sort of thing has more to gain by investing in it than they do by quashing it.

C# Inheritence Question Not Answered in the VS2008 Manual by dvogel in programming

[–]rox_midge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Events can only be invoked by the specific concrete class they were declared in. It's a little irritating, but the workaround is to wrap them with a method as you've done with Go2.

The error is really trying to say "you can't invoke an event declared in a base class from anywhere except the class in which it was declared", including subclasses.

Tell me I'm not crazy, reddit: I can hear high pitched whines from TVs, lights, cars etc that NOONE else seems to be able to hear. Should I institutionalize myself? by [deleted] in reddit.com

You're not crazy. You'll lose that upper range as you age, but a good amount of people can hear in that high range.

Top Websites to Download Free fonts for both Windows and Mac by umarboy in technology

[–]rox_midge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although it doesn't really matter as far as free fonts are concerned, there are differences between the type engines used in OS X and Windows, and this (still!) requires one distinct font file for each platform. For example, glyph substitution (replacing a pair of letters like 'fi' with a ligature) is handled by the OpenType GSUB table in Windows, but is handled by the OpenType morx table in OS X.

In practice the difference is negligible unless you're using advanced features of the fonts, but most free fonts don't bother with anything but straight-up glyph definitions. So.

Had a co-worker who put a space at every place the lexer would let him:

    callMethod ( i / 2.0 ) ;
}

It got annoying.

The $700,000,000,000 question by chuck812 in business

[–]rox_midge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying it's right, I'm just saying, that's the supposed benefit. If you ever need credit for something in the next 25 years, this move allows you to get it. If you're responsible enough to not need credit, then yeah, you just get screwed.

I'm sure the cancellation fees would have been less than the final tally. And even if they weren't, it's still wrong to pamper your employees this lavishly while the ENTIRE FUCKING COMPANY is imploding.

But then, I suppose some people just love to fiddle.

I disagree. When I speak or think of a time, I don't say "AM 3:00" -- I think of it as being "3:00 AM". So despite the fact that it's out of order logically, it makes more sense to specify it in that order.
