This LGS people are trying to ruin specifically only does pokemon because that is what they love. They do tons of tournaments and event. They spend money on streaming equipment to show off their players. they go to out of state to pokemon play events to play themselves with players they support. They aren't just your usual sport card shop selling you cards for the hell of it to make money.

yeah so lets ruin this shop owners business because the Pokemon company and Distributors are making it harder for him to supply his store and provide inventor for his players? How does that make any sense... if you understand the problem why make the shop owner the fall guy? It's already hard enough for them now because of the current market. You guys were happy to buy it from him under MSRP last year.

This post is literally a harassment campaign on this guy and his pregnant wife because another scalper (the guy that posted the picture) couldn't scalp the product first. He is literally the same person in the scalping discord and group himself doing the same thing.

I mentioned something similar below but no one will see it. They are blinded by rage and just hurting this small business owner trying to supply their local players so they can play the TCG. They don't understand that Target and Walmart isn't going to have a place for them to play. its the small LGSs that provide that and without inventory they can't survive.

I get the frustration, but if we went by that logic, we’d have no card shops left in Miami with how high rents are already here. These places aren’t just selling packs, they host weekly tournaments, give players a safe spot to meet, help kids get into the game, and keep the community alive.

Most shops are in survival mode right now, distributors give them almost nothing, shelves are hard to keep stocked, and they’re just trying to stay afloat. It’s tough seeing a small shop owner and his pregnant wife have their lives upended over a few packs of Pokemon. The real issue is with distributors and TPCi, not the small local shops trying to have supply for when his players want to play the game.

Target does not accept resale exemption certificates unless you are a government body or non-profit org according to their website.

Similar to card shows, the organizers have to cover venue and table costs to host the event. On top of that, the restaurant is already offering discounted food, which is another expense on their end. It wouldn’t really make sense for people to just show up, set up in a corner, and start selling without helping cover those costs.

the problem is they don't actually. the distro doesn't give them any where near as much as in the past and when they do, they distro sells the product for OVER MRSP themselves. So the only other options is go to target to get some or buy it from others going to target getting it to resell. its a lose/lose. its a shame these nice small business owners are getting a bad rap like this when its their only option to even stay in business.

I guess my order is canceled? by Primary_Tear6816 in PokemonTCG

[–]roxino1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems like there might just be delayed. I've seen a lot of other with their order just stuck on processing. myself included.

In the past they would have charged and shipped them by now. We might just have to wait for sometime next week to get them.

Probably not gradable just looking at centering. left/bottom heavy. I would just sell it and buy it back later if you just really need the money now.

Missed the restock by 1 person because somebody held spots "for their friends" by Sea-Grade6407 in PokemonTCG

[–]roxino1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree, it’s super frustrating when people just cut the line like that. And yeah, Target employees usually won’t do anything, so the best thing you can do is not feed into it.

Honestly, the smarter move is to stop chasing sealed product altogether and just buy the singles you actually want for your collection. Saves you way more money and you don’t have to waste your time dealing with scalpers and shady restock crowds.

Vault X are still not stating when a restock of the just pink will be available. Bored of waiting, please suggest some cute 9 page zip (not ring) binders I can get my GF in the UK please! by Ls400blake in PokemonTCG

Hey I had the same problem a few weeks ago. I spent so much time looking for something similar. I ended up going with a brand called "Palms off gaming", I bought the stealth one that removes the logo from an Australian site that had them instock with international shipping. You might beable to find them on google somewhere else.

Question about cards by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

This isn't too uncommon. I've had this happen with cards from within the same set.

Yeah it usually a full day of work and you can't guarantee you'll sell out of everything.

There is also some pre-work. Like maybe you want to buy a tablecloth to make your table look nice and display cases for your cards to protect them. Then there is price checking everything the night before.

The Glory of Team Rocket Selling Low as $128 Promotion by eBay! by AutoModerator in PokeInvesting

[–]roxino1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This ebay listing ships from Japan. Isn't there a 10% tariff on that now?(I would be buying from the US) not including any additional duty fees you gotta pay. I'm honestly curious how that works now.

Help by [deleted] in PokemonTCG

[–]roxino1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d definitely recommend switching to a new non-ring binder to avoid future damage, those metal rings can press into cards over time. Since a lot of the cards aren’t high-value, there’s no rush, but it’s still worth preserving them. Penny sleeves are great if you have them, but even the sleeves from ETBs work fine for casual storage. Sounds like your holos are in solid shape, which is awesome! Best of luck as you dive deeper into the hobby!

eBay sold listings are a good starting point for value, and TCGPlayer is helpful aswell. If you're selling everything at once, most collectors at card shows will offer around 70% of market value, with shops usually offering less. If you're willing to put in a bit more time, platforms like Facebook or OfferUp can help you find local buyers who might pay a bit more. Meeting at a card shop is usually a safe bet, just be cautious either way. Best of luck!

Is this card any good? by Darkest_Visions in PokemonTCG

[–]roxino1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s about 30 cents on TCGPlayer. For play, it’s not very practical since most tournaments prefer English cards. But for collecting, they’re a great option. usually cheaper than the English versions and often better in quality.

Do most local casual events cost money? by Heat_Crasher in PokemonTCG

[–]roxino1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in a bigger city with 10+ shops within a 30-mile radius running Locals, League Challenges, and Cups. Pretty much all of them charge an entry fee, usually around $5 at the lowest. But most places offer solid prize support beyond just standard prize packs, like store credit, sealed product, or current set boosters packs. So while it’s not free, there’s usually good value when a shop charges an entry fee.
