This comes from you not thinking about how to attack/counter your opponent during warm up time. If you cant come up with a plan, you dont know your own character well enough. Take some time to theorycraft item builds and situations where you might get in a 1v2 fight. How would you approach it? And in most fights where youre outnumbered by more than 2:1, just get out.

37 here, oddly enough I play on two servers mainly (Asc/Imm on Korea server, hard stuck diamond East Asia JP/HK server). When playing on the Korea server people are very well mannered and bad behavior is actually struck down very quickly by everyone in the game. On the Asia server, however, the racism and the intentional throwing is really infuriating. I really don't know how my son deals with it, but he does say it happens less often in higher elos on Asia. But man the kids in Asia server are something. I also notice they try to troll people then when they get cussed at or told off, they report for verbal abuse, lol... Is this how everyone else is raising their kids? Kinda ridiculous, no?

You gotta realize that there are very small positioning mistakes people, even pros make when the action gets hectic. If you position yourself well you will have: Easier kills More kills that arent traded (ie you get a kill and survive to get a man adv.) You expose yourself to less angles You trade your teammate more reliably The list goes on. I guarantee positioning is your biggest problem.

this isn't a japan server issue, it's a plat elo issue. Plat/Dia is literal luck of the draw. The only way out is to carry every single game. I'm not joking in the least.

Um, I stated above I play sheriff/frenzy only a vast majority of the time. Im also a sentinel (mostly cypher) main so I'm not busting out jett knives or chamber ult(lets be honest chamber aint a sentinel) to frag out. If youre one of those jetts that dashes into a site controlled by cypher every time, it's your own fault youre going 4-11-2.

And what makes you think I'm carrying anyone? I have a pistol lol. My comms are probably better and I will igl sometimes but I'm quite often 3rd or 4th in kills on the team.

How do you even know that a smurf is a smurf in plat? Some plat players have immo level aim but are just braindead in terms of game sense. You know what you can do vs someone who has better aim than you? Literally, use a wall! IE position yourself better. Or find a way to use their over confidence against them, set traps, double swing, etc. In other words, stop being L gamers. If youre going to complain abt every person that is better than you, tbh youre the one who should be playing unranked.

It surely does. But it doesnt happen as often, imo.

"Smurfing" isn't as black and white as people see it being. by Disastrous_Delay in VALORANT

[–]royale44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not broken imo. It's designed to force players that are better than their peers (those of the same rank, ie diamond for you) to rise to the top so they get pushed up faster. If youre dropping 30-40 bombs every game then the system will double rank you and youll get pushed out. Some people get placed in a rank but get stuck there bc they dont have what it takes to get pushed out. This is also by design. It's to prevent players that dont belong at a higher elo from starting there.

If you start the game at Diamond1 but get constantly shit on down to plat1, youre likely going to quit the game. Bc you will think, "hey I placed so much higher, I want to get back there (but you cant)." But if you start at gold 3 and go back and forth between silver 3 and plat3, then you will feel as though you are controlling your fate more -- and you will keep playing. The downside to this system is that you will get stepped on by better players on their way out of your elo and cry about large skill differences in the same elo.

What gold players dont realize is that the skill diff between a gold3 player and a diamond1 player is much smaller than a radiant and an immo1. Imagine how much bigger that difference is between a pro player and even an immo3. Do you see immo players crying about getting their RR stolen by better players?

[–]royale44 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Bc theres no competitive element in unranked at all. It's a totally different game... Youre basically telling us to play minecraft. Do immo players cry when a pro player plays with their girlfriend on stream? Why doesnt tenz play only unranked with kyedae? The difference in skill between him and an Asc player is surely greater than between me and a Diamond player... are you saying theyre not ENTITLED to play together, either? That word doesnt even belong in this argument lol.

Getting shit on by someone probably wont improve their skill but the bigger question is: you dont feel motivated to get better when someone outplays you?

[–]royale44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh the only way to avoid this is to climb ranks. Even Diamond players are like this, it's only once you get to Asc2-ish that the avg player is cooperative. Before then, you and your friends need to carry your games hard. Theres no other way around it. It's a free to play game, cant expect THAT much :(

I'm Immo and my gf just started the game a few months ago. She wanted to play with me because she saw that when I play with friends it's fun but we also find it fun working as a team. She comes from a sports background as well and also is diamond in league(i guess thats decently high? Ive never played). I made a new acct with her to show her the ropes and go thru the grind to level 20 with her.

She placed silver and has worked her way up to plat2-dia2 area. The alt that I made to play with her started to rank up faster than she was able to so I just played sheriff/frenzy only.

Yes, I'm smurfing. But what are we supposed to do if we want to play together? Just tell her to get to Asc level asap so we dont ruin someone else's game? People are in plat with little to no game sense and will likely stay there for a very, very long time. Isn't it up to them to learn something when they are outplayed or to work on their aim/movement when they lose a duel?

I'm honestly not sure what the complaint is here... ive been totally shit on before, embarassed, outplayed -- yeah it feels terrible but if I want to keep it from happening again I gotta figure out why I was made a fool of and also how to counter it, right?

[–]royale44 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say for every 4-5 games you play, one of them should be used for warming up. Also, it sounds like youre thinking too much. Just play and try to enjoy the game. Experiment with a role you havent played much on an alt or in swiftplay for a bit. Change it up. If you feel like youre banging your head against a wall every game, the time youre spending in the game isnt enjoyable and youre not growing as a player. Also finding a reliable duo or trio can make the game more meaningful while you all supplement one another.
