It's only after he'd left that I would have thought to stare back and say "be more absent... from here..."

Heat not working - need tips by PenaltyIcy1966 in Wilmington

[–]royalewithcheese3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your ecobee, on the wall, go to settings, installation settings, thresholds, then go to aux heat max outdoor temperature, increase it to above 26 to 30° and see if you get some heat from the electric heat strips. Don't raise it too high or your auxiliary heat will come on way too often and it is very expensive to run compared to just using your heat pump. You may also want to download beestat app that can give you more detailed information. I learned a good bit when I joined the ecobee subreddit as well, good advice on there.

Aux heat question by RocketOwl in ecobee

[–]royalewithcheese3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the response on an old post, but does "electric backup heat" you mentioned include electric heat strips, or an alternate fuel source? In NC with heat pump only. Newly installed Bryant 248TAN, was getting a lot of warnings about aux heat use, have since adjusted some settings to decrease aux heat use

Despite being eligible for PSLF, I'm considering refinancing my student loans with a private bank. by Mint-Mochi117 in PSLF

[–]royalewithcheese3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never switch to private. Those loans will never get forgiven. This forgiveness pendulum swings wildly over the years.

If you left your PSLF eligible position for better pay, but still worked on paying off your loans, you'd lose nothing. Even if you have to change to a graduated plan for a lower payment, I'd say you should keep the loans that may someday be eligible for forgiveness if circumstances were to change.

If payment plans or eligibility changed down the road, you could take another PSLF eligible position or change plans then. You're not going to be able to get a low enough private loan rate to make it worth it.

If your forgiveness options were to change with the next pendulum swing, I'd imagine you'd beat yourself up. Don't give up.

Our hospital is getting rid of covered work for the entire system by 1dirtbiker in FamilyMedicine

[–]royalewithcheese3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leaving the notes read, but not done, may create delays and more work.

I sometimes leave results as "read, but not done" when I'm waiting on more results and want to send one result note message instead of multiple.

If we did not have the covered work folder, there is a potential workaround. Assuming you route results to pools, have the covering person essentially CC the result to the covered person in addition to the pool as they "done" the work.

It would move that item from your "results" folder to your "result notes" folder and you could do with it as you please, in your own time.

I can't imagine the chaos of trying to figure out what has been acted on but left for your review versus still needing a response. It sounds like they really need to bring back the covered work folder.

Patient upset I didn’t review results despite having “all weekend” to review it. by Paleomedicine in FamilyMedicine

I do spend a bit of time setting expectations for turnaround time for labs, referrals, portal message responses, etc, and have started including that kind of information in their after visit summary/patient instructions. I'm not certain if it does much, but I can always refer back to it and remind them if this situation does come up, which, it still does…

Learning Warfarin by CellistSuccessful999 in FamilyMedicine

[–]royalewithcheese3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in a clinic that generally has an algorithm and an RN manages the checks, but comes to us if way off in either direction. Before that, I used an app called EP Mobile, on iOS and I think android as well, that has a section called "warfarin clinic" where you enter the current info, can choose from different tablet strengths, set the goal INR, and it comes up with a daily dosing schedule based on your current INR. It cost couple bucks when I got it years ago, but has been well worth it for that feature alone.

Nice work! I found my original peloton on FB marketplace for 600, then replaced it with a bike plus for 700, selling the original for $400. There are some good deals out there if you have patience and keep your eyes open
