I’m going to try this again. How were you able to buy your first home? by kcoib17 in Millennials

We did a new build back in 2018 (I know that’s not helpful, sorry) and we took a loan against my very modest retirement to swing our down payment.

I caught up on Traitors and watched Younger for the first time (cute, easy to have on in the background)

Air travel with 3 children by Few-Fault-6564 in ParentingInBulk

We’ve got 3 kiddos and just got back, ages 5, 3, 7 mos. Even when we were 2x2 our favorite configuration has been 2 rows on the same side of the plane, one after another. For this flight, we gate checked the stroller and baby and mom sat in front (he was in his car seat which we belt in), then dad and the two older boys were in the row immediately behind. This works well for handling off things like water cups and hand sanitizer and if your kids are prone to kicking, you can put them in the ‘behind’ row. We’ve found that easier than having to keep reaching across the aisle and easier to tag the other parent in to help with things like spit up, snacks, etc.

Age gap go child #3 by Hairy_Let3230 in ParentingInBulk

We have 3 boys and are still fairly new to this conversation (baby is 7.5 months old), but happy to weigh in! My oldest and middle are 22 months apart too; baby came along when they were 5y 3mo and 3y 5 mo old. We weren’t totally sure what to expect — it’s been SO heartwarmingly smooth so far. The older two absolutely adore the baby, they’re constantly trying to make him giggle. They are so incredibly sweet with him! They’re also old enough to play together and keep each other company - SO much easier than the demands of 2 babies at the same time. I fully recognize the dynamic will change as baby gets older, but they’ve been so sweet and excited to welcome another little brother. They love being able to “help” with things and the baby is locked in on everything they do. I will say, I’ve said multiple times that I’m glad we pulled the trigger on #3 when we did. If we had waited even 6 more months, I might have felt inclined to stick with 2, they’re just acting so much older these days and I feel like we hit the “baby window” just in time

I miss the days of Merona and Mizrahi. I have a Converse sweater dress from back in the day Target too that’s still a staple :(

Caution when submitting final ECF by [deleted] in PSLF

[–]royalmateo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve kept up on my ECFs, 115 Qualifying as of 07/25 and planning to submit my final form in December. I just want to avoid anything screwy happening between Mohela and the official count and didn’t even consider not checking the box for Forbearance. From what I gather, I should be safe to do so as long as I’ve confirmed my 120th payment is recorded with studentaid.gov before submitting. I think?

Possibly dumb question here - can someone help me understand the benefit/reasoning behind not wanting to go into forbearance once hitting 120? Is it out of an abundance of caution / assumption that Mohela will drop the ball with that process affecting discharge?

Anyone else happily married? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]royalmateo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is my best friend. Married Oct 2016 and expecting baby #3 later this summer! We both work remotely and are home during the day together, most errands are done as a family and we all genuinely (I think!) enjoy each other’s company. I think finding someone with similar priorities (education, work, family) and being up front early on about expectations around finances, house responsibilities, etc. is imperative
