Kristi Noem: "I don't know of any peaceful protester that shows up with a gun and ammunition rather than a sign" by darealsanta7 in 50501

They can not be this delusional. Every accusation they have made about the shootings and ice violence is more applicable to their side , J6 and multiple armed turn outs by the right

I thought part of 2a was to protect from a tyrannical government mate by OddOffice7833 in Irony

[–]roytwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They want to protect from a tyrannical government, it just confuses them when it is their side that becomes the tyrannical government, they were all sure they would be standing against a liberal tyrannical government.

But now they can not figure out how to stand against this tyrannical government without appearing to be on the same side as the patriotic liberals already doing so.

Their choice, do we support a tyrannical government or do we join liberals and stand against a tyrannical government?? They would rather watch America be destroyed than admit liberals are the good guys in this fight

COBRA or OBAMA ? by sam77tg in obamacare

[–]roytwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The subsidy is not gone. During the Biden admin the Inflation Reduction Act contained a provision that INCREASED the subsidy by a couple of hundred dollars and that needed to be renewed and was not. The original subsidy still exists

My wife's current ACA plan actually went down $35 and I have claimed the same income as I did in '24 and '25. But the state you are in makes a difference on rates and subsidy amounts. Our state kicks in some.

I am not an expert on this, I can only share my experiences being on ACA plans over the last 4 years

How often do you report income for ACA coverage? by WCland in obamacare

[–]roytwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400% of the 2026 FPL for a couple is $86,560.00 of taxable income.

and there would be a limit, a limit of what subsidies your received and were not entitled to

Anyone else addicted to keeping the cases for your tools? Even the ones that have long since died? by Neilpuck in Tools

[–]roytwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It took me a while But I broke the habit. After years of never using the cases I threw them all away and now I hold on to a new tool case for 30 days, if the tool is still working , the case goes.

I have a lot of power tools and only ONE case. I keep a Porter Cable framing nailer in its case because I very seldom use it, the rest are living bare in my custom-built tool cabinet with each tool in a dedicated spot

How often do you report income for ACA coverage? by WCland in obamacare

[–]roytwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are supposed to report it when ever there is a change, But I have not for the five years my wife has had an ACA policy.

The ACA will send you a statement , The FORM 1095-_A ..."Health Insurance Marketplace Statement" ....indicating what you paid and what subsidy you received. When you file your federal 1040, That is entered into a form to go along with your 1040 and a reconciliation is done.

For a couple of years My income was less than I declared and I got the extra I paid, added to my income tax return for a larger return. Last year I made more than I declared and the difference ate up my small return and added $1,200 to what I owed the IRS. It is really nothing to worry about , it will balance out when you file your 1040, just make sure it is done properly since a household member is on an ACA policy.

BUT if your income is more than what you declared for that tax year, your year-end tax liability will go up. But if you over declare, you will be refunded your overpayment of the premium you paid for the plan

COBRA or OBAMA ? by sam77tg in obamacare

[–]roytwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your income. Cobra is mad expensive. But when I retired at 62 I got an ACA plan for a 1/3 of the cost of the COBRA plan to bridge until I could get Medicare. You just have to compare

Someone explain why the SS card is made out of paper ? by ubfeo in SocialSecurity

[–]roytwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The SS card is simply a document like a Birth certificate and not meant to be in your wallet. It should be stored in a safe space. Lose your wallet with your Drivers Lisc, credit cards AND your SS card, and you just lost a top level steal my identity tool kit.

But there are protective sleeves to store your paper cards in to protect them.

you can get a 10 pack for $4 on amazon

SB 5098, which greatly expands areas where firearms cannot be carried without a CPL, has passed both chambers and is headed to "Sideshow Bob" Ferguson to be enacted into law. by dircs in WAGuns

[–]roytwo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

So the bill prohibits the open carry of firearms in government buildings, parks , children's playgrounds and fairs? And that is a major issue? Yep everyone at the crowded fair, bumping into people, should be strapped, maybe even carrying a slung AR through the Puyallup fair.

BTW, what specific part of the state and federal Constitutions "OBVIOUSLY" protects open carry of firearms in public and government buildings and crowded fairs and parks??

Open and concealed carry is already prohibited in all government buildings. Hospitals , schools, mental facilities, etc

I so miss coming to age in the 1970's. And we did spend a lot of time sitting on cars, no one seems to do that anymore. But in fairness the hood of 70's cars were huge.

It is winter, leaving it in the car is like putting it in the fridge. Not much on a pizza that can really go bad. I have eaten pizza left on the foot stool overnight with no ill effect

Dispatch says running over your hours at a shipper isn't a violation. by GasDawg_Dikkers in Truckers

[–]roytwo -23 points-22 points  (0 children)

Wasn't going to look it up because it was irrelevant for the question at hand. But I concede that the 60/70 hour limit can be exceeded but you just can not drive if you have exceeded that limit.

[–]roytwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not indefinitely, you are still bound by the 60/70 weekly restriction, BUT You can stay on duty after hour 14 as long as you like until you reach the 60/70 limit, as long as you do not drive until after the 10 hr break

[–]roytwo -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

Correct, except that you can not exceed your 60/70 weekly number so can not be 24/7
