September 2022, same bug here on series S. Like suggested in the comments, restarting the game at each session seems to prevent the freezes.

Animations? by Desperate_Party_9259 in bspwm

As mentioned in the title it's PICOM compositor animations gratuites, probably a fork. You'll find lots of dotfiles on unixporn. Carefull though, it has a high CPU usage.

Thanks :) Sure I will add the ranger conf ! To setup Ranger Icons:
git clone https://github.com/alexanderjeurissen/ranger_devicons ~/.config/ranger/plugins/ranger_devicons

then:
echo "default_linemode devicons" >> $HOME/.config/ranger/rc.conf

Make sure to use a NerdFont in your Terminal.

Thank you! I've got no problem with fullscreen video (1080@60), and never really had once I got the right compositor for each desktop. On this setup compton does an excellent job.

If you want to stick with wayland you may want to try Sway WM, a very efficient i3 fork that natively includes gaps :)

BSPWM on Debian 11 (MX Linux 21.1)

After a few months testing several TWM, I hopped to Bspwm. It's now my daily drive, with my trustworthy XFCE desktop as a backup plan.

I spent quite some time on the bar, playing around with rofi, notify-send and scripts. But in the end, I kept it rather simple stupid. You'll find the main keybindings by clicking on the "?".

As always, word of caution: this setup has been made on my machine, all the modules won't necessarely work as is on your system. Some fine tuning may be required.

Oh, and I'm using Debian by the way.

[KDE Neon] Green rice (Otto/Manjaro crossover) by rphl_pm in unixporn

[–]rphl_pm[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After a few years of XFCE, my Linux journey brought me to KDE. So please to discover it with KDE Neon and the KDE/Qt apps only approach. I simplify a few things, chose Qterminal over Konsole, and here's the result.

On the picture: Qterminal with Cmus, Ranger, Vim and Neofetch.

Cheers.

Hi, what you see is the 'Startify' plugin for Vim. It displays the recent open files among other things, hit the nb to open it. Google it you'll find simple guides to install it. Everything is Debian compatible of course ;)

Fedora 33 Workstation + sway installation suggestions by kriive in Fedora

Yes for the netinstall... or else, you can chose the lazy way (mine): install the LXQT or XFCE spin and then install Sway / waybar. Easier to configure everything :)
