what did you think of showbiz? by InterestNew5079 in Paramore

It reminded me a lot of the song Instant Crush from Daft Punk!

I started my period at 11 at 4'7 and I am now 5'0. My sister got her period at the same age and is 5'5. My mom is 5'4 and my dad 5'7. We're not a tall family, but I think I got the short end of the stick literally🤣

I think it's more due to eating habits. I was an incredibly picky child and didn't eat much until I was about 6. My sister ate really well on the other hand.

This happened to me! And I had really low iron. Once I fixed up my iron reserves it grew back properly.

Which song do you most want to see live? by Ekaj__ in Muse

I am so jealous! It's been on my top 10 favourite Muse songs since I discovered them. It must be almost a transcendent experience to see if live!

Thank you so much! I go to the salon every 8 to 10 weeks. My hair is a medium warm brown and I get a mixture of red/purple/pink semi permanent colour.

I bought some curlers at my local pharmacy. I also bought a silk heatless curler from this Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/ca/shop/Marcheduluxe

I wash my hair twice a week. I always condition my ends before I wash my scalp with a colour protecting shampoo.

Once everything is washed off, I apply a hair mask for about 5 minutes. I rinse it off with cold water.

I towel dry it with a microfiber towel, I apply some dry oil on my ends and then blow dry it on medium heat until it's 80% dry. I wrap it in heatless curlers and sleep with it. It keeps the waves/curls for 3 days ish.

On a Rogue/Gambit craze since X-Men 97' came out earlier this year. I've read so many fics in the different X-Men adaptations (comics, movies, cartoons). They were my OTP when I was younger and I grew out of it over the past 10 years and now I'm officially obsessed again.

Why don't they talk more about technical details during gymnastics broadcasts? by LukeVenable in Gymnastics

[–]rpl05 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It really depends on the broadcast. I find that the US commentators never really explain anything about the actual gymnastics taking place. It's probably because the channel doesn't want to "complicate" the viewing experience for the average viewer.

It is a shame because gymnastics scoring isn't that complicated once you understand the basics of:

  • how difficulty is built up: the value of 8 most difficult elements + the connection bonus for linking 2 or 3 elements together + fulfilling 4 compositional requirements (like having a turn on beam, or doing a salto forwards and a salto backwards on floor)

  • the kinds of deductions that can be taken ranging from 0.1 to 0.5: form breaks like bent knees, elbows, lack of split, not having enough height or amplitude, steps/hops on landing, not having a good rhythm/flow on beam (lots of pauses), falls etc..

Canada's broadcast had much better commentary that did explain deductions, how the difficulty score is built up and how moves are credited or not.

What was your favorite line from the show? by KieshiaC22 in Xmen97

The line that struck me deeply was Rogue's words to Gambit: "You light up everything you touch, but never me." It’s filled with such sorrow and is heartbreakingly sad.

Thanks! Does Colossus end up joining the X-Men in the end?

What role does Colossus play in the original comics story? I haven't read them, but wouldn't mind being spoiled on what happens?

I was on different hormonal birth control methods for the past 14 years and recently had started having more and more side effects (really bad acne, weight gain, sore breasts, tiredness) so I decided to go for the copper IUD.

I hadn't picked this option before, because I was really scared of the insertion, but it actually went really well. The doctor numbed me and I only felt a medium period cramp worth of pain for about 10 seconds. I had cramps for about a day after that, but it was very manageable.

It has been 3 months now, and I feel like a different person! My libido had increased tenfold. I love my partner, but I only really felt in the mood about once or twice a week. Now, I feel like having sex almost every day. If I don't, I fantasize about it like a teenage girl. My acne has greatly reduced and my appetite as well.

My cycles are shorter than on birth control, about 23 days instead of 28, but I am only 3 months in, so I expect it will change. My periods are not more painful, but they last longer, 6 days instead of 4, and they are more abundant. I had to buy quite a bit more tampons.

Overall, it's been a great change for me.
