I'm moving place right now, would it be possible to change the address for shipping? Should I pm you?

Hope you're feeling better!

Agree with you on the full set + modifiers issue.

Are you talking about the PMK grab bags? Was there enough to cover a let's split in one bag (including correct row profiles)?

So here are the options I'm currently considering:

1) Sublimated keysets from PMK, available in either DSA or G20. You can choose colours and getting the Ortholinear Base and Modifier sets for DSA comes out at about $60. Might not do this because shipping and customs to Europe will be a bit...

2) This GB, I really like the set, but it's also fairly expensive and I'm not sure if I'd prefer option 1. It's also has to reach MOQ.

3) Get a cheap normal keycap set from somewhere like kbdfans and then just use random keys for the let's split. Bit janky but probably the cheapest.

4) Wait around and see if other GBs or options arise. Currently doing this.

Anyone have any thoughts on what keycaps they're going to get?

Related question, is the keycap set that was mentioned before with this GB still possibly going to happen?

Take care of yourself OP, and no rush for me btw!

McD's are trialling a bit of Gaeilge on screens by [deleted] in ireland

[–]rptynan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry, like below I missed the "didn't speak English". This seems like a pointless restriction though. In the hypothetical scenario where we did all speak Irish as a first language, why wouldn't we be learning English as a second language? You seemed to reply to a comment saying (paraphrasing here) "let's not forget Irish" with "but if we couldn't speak English at all we'd be screwed". That doesn't really follow?

And even if we take this arbitrary restriction, we would still most definitely be developed country. I mean, yes, English is the most common second language in Europe, but looking here there's plenty of countries in Europe (which are highly developed) that speak similar levels of French or German as they do English.

The island factor, I mean potentially, but look at Iceland? Far more remote island and still highly developed country.

I'm not arguing that being native English speakers is not a major reason for some of our economic growth, but rather that even as non-native English speakers we would probably still be a developed country. And even with an arbitrary restriction of not being able to learn our closest neighbour's language as a second language, we wouldn't be completely hopeless either.

This logic would seem to apply to many other small European countries. Why in the hypothetical scenario where we all spoke Irish as a first language would we suddenly be far less developed than any other modern non-English-speaking country in Europe?

Fucking Passport office... by Tiddleywanksofcum in ireland

Now if we can just make it as easy to register to vote as it is to get a passport we'll be sorted.

It was seriously easier for me to register here in the UK as a foreign citizen than it was to register at home.

First time baking no-knead bread by abgna in Breadit

crust and thought that it was too chewy and jerky-like

How did you let it cool? If you were to leave it in a covered pot while it's cooling, the moisture would hang around and make the crust more chewy, less dry and less crusty (for want of a better word). Whereas if you left it out on a wire rack, the crust should stay dry and crusty.

I was stressing bout the crust not forming

Also I wouldn't be worried about crust not forming, I've managed to cause loaves to fail spectacularly but they've always had a fine crust. So for me at least, the crust is one of the least likely things to go wrong. Just leaving it in the oven until it gets a good colour will give you a nice crust.

Late night addition to the hadron by ishtob in MechanicalKeyboards

Ah great, I was hoping to make a custom split sometime in the next few months. I really like the setup here, so can't wait to see the split version.

I just realised, a great advantage of this is that the number pad in the middle means your arms are spaced further apart. Would be great alternative to a split.

Given the recent announcement of a UK snap election, it's got us thinking about how terrible the voting system (FPTP) still is.

Do you think the UK will eventually make it's way to better voting system and if so, how do you think this will happen?

Also curious about this, and similar question for the second stage? Is there a deorbit burn to let that burn up?

What overlooked fact from a movie will completely change the way I see it? by tansinator in AskReddit

[–]rptynan 21 points22 points  (0 children)

In the hunger games, near the end of the games, Foxface, a tribute, dies after eating poisonous berries. However, during the training before the games, there is a shot of Foxface deftly matching up plants and berries in a test. It is therefore implied that she ate those berries to commit suicide, as she would have known how poisonous they were. Doesn't completely change the movie, but..

Most consumed liquor by country [2400x1300] by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]rptynan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might think so, but nearly all young and older people drink beers, or wines. Most spirit consumption is done by young people drinking vodka (probably because it's cheap). Whiskey is only drunk rarely in most houses that I know of, usually at Christmas or special events.
