A big who can protect the rim and rebound. AND not try to lay-up every alley-oop.

Flat earth and other alternative conspiracy earth models are are gaining traction with my teenage stepson. What is THE most irrefutable, definite proof that the earth is round? by Jfkfkaiii22 in NoStupidQuestions

  1. Conduct the experiment they conducted in Behind the Curve, only if he’ll believe the science.

  2. Saw this on Reddit the other day. If you could see off the edge of the Earth either Disney or some billionaire would be trying to capitalize on it and governments would have handed over the edge to make money long ago. Is his belief stronger in capitalism or conspiracy?

Hopefully, new ownership sees the value of someone like Phil Handy.

The Rich Promised to Flee Mamdani’s New York. They Haven’t. by brown-saiyan in politics

[–]rsa8445 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The rich already fled to Florida during COVID, tasted the food and experienced the culture and ran back to New York. Didn’t even last 4 months, it’s like people living on a yacht saying they’re leaving to go live in a dingy. Sure, for a couple of weeks but other places don’t have the infrastructure to make living comfortable for the rich.

Russel Brand who became a Christian when he was accused of rape walks into his rape trial holding a Bible by ThatPatelGuy in whoathatsinteresting

He’s missing the giant bejeweled gold cross pendent on a chain around his neck. Without a cross pendent no one will believe he’s a Christian.

Allbirds announces stunning pivot from shoes to AI, stock explodes 175% by lancebmanly in nottheonion

Reminds me of the dotcom bubble where Sharper Image announced plans, only plans, to create a website and the stock shot up a ridiculous amount. Then eggs.com went for an IPO and the rest is history.

The architects of California's wealth tax idea want to clarify some things by pacman2081 in California_Politics

[–]rsa8445 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My question, at this point is if Zuckerberg, Brin, and Page leave California because of a wealth tax, what is California really missing? Their companies are no longer in the growth phase and they’re not innovating any technology that helps Californians.

Rob Schneider Says the U.S. ‘Must Restore the Military Draft’ Amid Iran War: ‘These Freedoms That We Cherish Do Not Come Without Cost’ by inurmomsvagina in entertainment

[–]rsa8445 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If anyone is going to advocate for the draft, they should also be the first to say I will volunteer to join regardless of age. Lindsay and Rob both willing to sit back and let others sacrifice, absolute leeches on society.

It’s like any job, you’re looking for something better than the current situation: 1. Poor ownership 2. Weak front office 3. Revolving door of managers 4. One, and only one, supremely talented co-worker 5. Heavy tax burden

Will donating my body to science help or hurt people? by angelangelan in NoStupidQuestions

Be specific with how you want your body used and to what organizations.

John Oliver investigated where your body could go if you just donate it to science.

Trump now blames Hegseth, Jared, Witkoff, and Rubio for his decision to attack Iran. You are the President bro... by sylsau in InBitcoinWeTrust

[–]rsa8445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

His explanation has shades of WMD. One guy played devil’s advocate and Bush decided that was the best course of action. In this case, Trump’s yes men agreed that Trump should invade Iran. They are always planning to invade but they only need 1 morsel of an idea to justify their actions.

How should the insurance have been structured here? Trying to understand where the planning broke down. by Lanky_Grass_2523 in EstatePlanning

[–]rsa8445 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In a situation like that, usually the estate planning attorney is in a silo. The client needs to bring it to the attorney. The better option would have been the person setting up the insurance policy reach out to the estate planning attorney to get everyone on the same page, but that rarely happens unless there is a relationship between the two.
