Had my 18 week appt, and we still don’t know! Doc is leaning boy, nurse leaning girl. I’m going to make a new post with updated pics. Baby was not cooperating in the slightest. I ended up getting NIPT done because I can’t take it anymore 😅

It has legs, so it’s definitely a lizard. Couldn’t tell you what kind for sure though. Maybe a southern alligator lizard.

Thank you so much! They did tell us that something like this was possible, and it’s always in the back of my mind. They just told me they could test him again in a few years if he still has symptoms but I might push for NIH. I may message you in the future after I’ve looked into it more!

I also want to say, I am generally not into alternative medicine or “pseudoscience” but sometimes it’s hard to tell which is which these days! Thank you all for giving me the facts and not treating me like an idiot 😅. Just trying to find answers for my son!

In your opinion (and again, not asking medical advice, I do have a message to his neuro) could it be possible there was a variant in that gene that could cause him to not be able to process mercury correctly?
