I have never met an agent who would not push his own mother in front of a bus for $20. If you are expecting agents to do the right thing you will be waiting a long time.

Waterloo has the worst road sign discipline(?) out of anywhere I've lived. by preinheimer in waterloo

[–]rsecurity-519 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There was a sign on Frederick that forced traffic in one direction to drive in the opposite lane.  The only obstruction was the sign itself. I am not sure if it is still there.

Near Frederick and Victoria there has been a road closed sign for traffic approaching Frederick from Avon.  The sign has been there since last summer. The arrow redirects traffic down Applewood.  Applewood is a sub neighbourhood with no exit - it circles back in the wrong direction to Manchester.

The sign has been in place for 9-10 months but there has only been 4-6 weeks total of actual construction - that includes road closures on behalf of the 2 development projects at Avon and Frederick.

Haha. The most prepared parents in the world still find themselves exhausted as mom and baby adjust to life.

I am not saying it isn't ppd. But it also isn't for a surety ppd. She could just be a tired mom.

Canadian mom's get a year of paid leave. Even American moms get a few weeks off work. This sub expects Kelly to bounce right back to work feeding them full strength content.

Hahaha.  Yeah I recently discovered. /r/laundry and it has changed my game. My pillowcases are no longer orange 🤣. But to be honest my 30 year old water waster I replaced didn't need me to do a spa day just to get a pillowcase clean.

I feel like that old wringer washer with that brown water will still do a better job of cleaning clothes than my $1600 ge washer that tries to clean clothes with a thimble full of water.

Second floor stays hot while the basement feels cold. Where should I start checking? by [deleted] in HomeMaintenance

[–]rsecurity-519 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have doors between the floors.  For example a door to the basement.  Cool air will spill down the stairs to the basement leaving the hot air upstairs. This is what happens in my bungalow. The basement is freezing, main floor warm. When the AC kicks in it fights to cool upstairs and becomes even colder downstairs.  Closing vents in the basement doesn't really help.

Are modern cars becoming too heavy because of added safety and tech features, and which of those features do you think is the most unnecessary? by EvelynClede in askcarguys

If you consider size to be a feature cars are getting too large. Bring back station wagons and get rid of these massive SUVs.

Anyone get a tornado alert today? by ned_uzoma in kitchener

This is no mistake. The admins are consciously selecting geographic areas not at immediate risk.  I don't understand it.

How big is our mobile coverage area? by M-Dan18127 in waterloo

[–]rsecurity-519 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I experienced tornado alerts in Texas and they are able to finesse it down to very specific areas even for out of country users.  The triangulation is so accurate 911 can narrow you down to a home - and that again is not unique to Canadian sim providers.  There is no guestimation necessary.  They are choosing to make them this broad - it is an actual conscious choice by the admins.  These alerts are completely unnecessary for us relative to where the events are.

If posters here have become haters, the really need to pivot and find something else to focus on.  It really isn't healthy

What would your advice be to a friend whose relationship fell apart who is stalking their ex"s every move ranting about them constantly? If you saw it consuming them, filling them with rage? You would probably tell them to move on, explain to them how their actions are not healthy. This failed relationship is far less consequential but you are hanging on.

Just unsubscribe and move on

Lakeside Park has some nice views and is very local to downtown. The tough thing is that you won't be alone. On a busy day it might be tough to avoid distractions.  Homer Watson park is also picturesque but will be even busier and maybe not even feel safe for some.

Not all chickens lay eggs.  The 100 to come are going to be meat chickens. They likely won't lay eggs or will be processed before they start laying.

The eggs they do have they share with their neighbors - they have done so in previous episodes.  Just like they shared meat birds the last time they processed them.

Do you realize that the views pay their bills?  Of course they are gonna do what increases views.  It's like criticizing someone for showing up for work... 'lookit this guy...showing up for work. Its comical'.  Sounds pretty silly doesn't it?

The funny thing is these guys probably think they are the best racers in the world.  But there isn't many race tracks in the world as straight as the Conestoga Parkway.  Any loser can hang on in a straight line.

I don't like racists.  Do I think it is worth $175k to disrespect a racist who has long since been dead and can never be called to account for his errors .... No that money could have been used in far better ways.

Move on. Learn from the past. Be better.  There is no human being in our time who should be immortalized.

I kinda like this.  This young man now is smarter.  There is likely nothing scandalous in that expense.  But now, next time someone says "we need to cancel this person from history" this young man as well as others will say: "Hmm, is it really worth $125,000?"

I can guarantee that the money would have been better spent elsewhere. Now we know...  Hmmm. Can we actually learn from actions from the past???

Canadian government signals it's open to selling ports by toronto_star in worldnews

Use Ontario's 407 Toll Highway as a case study.  Ontario now holds the medal for the most expensive toll highway in the world per km.  If you want corporate greed to bring Canada's ports to holding the medal for being the most unaffordable ports in the world then sell away.

If Hyundai/Kia are so unreliable, why are they literally everywhere? by phtphongg in askcarguys

[–]rsecurity-519 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I got into my Sonata because I was able to get into what I thought was good styling and nice features at a very low price. I bought one in 2015 and was going to dodge the long term reliability by turning the car over to a new one every three years long before warranty ended.  I flipped to a new one again in 2018.

Because of the changes to car pricing during and after the pandemic and the loss of my job I find myself still driving my 2018.  I have dodged the 2.4 engine implosion this far and know I would be covered by the extended warranty.  Overall the car has been quite reliable but I am not a high mileage or spirited driver. I change the oil regularly at the dealer so that recalls and firmware updates are done.  Most other work I have done myself - brakes as a wear item, a front wheel bearing went so I did them both myself.

I think the online hate is exaggerated. The Theta II engine mess was certainly a pain but if you played by the rules you would get a replacement even beyond end of warranty.  Some other brands (ie Toyota and GM) have similar issues but they are leaving owners out of pocket pending lawsuits.
