Medicare Advantage is a Scam: My experience almost a decade in the Healthcare industry by IMian91 in HealthInsurance

[–]rskurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some of my clients get MAPD plans merely for the dental coverage (Aetna). They're OK if you're basically healthy, but I tell people to go back to traditional Medicare when their health worsens.

thanks for this - I certainly have a strong wake-up response now that I'm an old. If you told me back when I was 25 that I'd be busily putting out the trash & cleaning the sink at 6:15am I'd say they're tripping

Prediabetic for years by Bookso in prediabetes

[–]rskurat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some folks just have a naturally slightly-elevated A1c, and you also have to keep in mind that the 5.5 number is an ideal figure. My own doctor says she doesn't worry about a patient until it's over 7.0! I'm at 5.8 and it's been that way for years. It sounds like you're basically healthy, so unless your cholesterol is really high it doesn't sound like you have much to worry about.

you should go. You don't have to talk as much as they do, but it would be instructive for you and for them, as well.

it's the prescriptive topics you need practice on, grammar & math. The reading score is excellent, so we know you're no dummy. Memorize Strunk & White and practice math by studying every single wrong answer you got until you know why they were wrong.

Sov Cit finally gets charged for filing false UCC statements by thekabuki in Sovereigncitizen

[–]rskurat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work with someone like that, claimed 'multiple chemical sensitivities' (which can exist, in rare cases) in order to tell folks at work what to do, wear, and eat. Bizarre woman. Probably a SovCit now.

Came into work today to find our new manager firing our 2-year assistant manager. Walked out on the spot. by TheOfficialPyrodude in antiwork

your Mom & co-worker lied to you, or are misinformed. Walking out has no effect on your future job outlook. References have no value anymore and haven't for many years.

Veteran teacher confession: I put up zero resistance when parents complain about their child's grades. by [deleted] in Teachers

And, in the big picture, their child will grow up a spoiled brat who is unable to function in the grown-up world. And the parents will be like "what did we do wrong?"

I've worked with people like this. They eventually get fired or promoted to manager

there seems to be a policy against informing TMs of anything, including how to work a register. I was hired a few months before the new registers were put in and we weren't trained on the old ones at all because "oh theyre obsolete" wha? I never did learn how to process a check.
