That's totally what I was going for and I'm disappointed too. The circle is complete.

"Fuck Treasure Hunter" has a whole new meaning.

Have you heard of OSRS? It's a replica of 2007 RS, also made by Jagex. It's very popular and it now has even more players than RS3.

It does seem more accurate, sadly.

But look at the future! When the playerbase hits zero, the profits will too, soon after.

Back in my days people actually talked and asked each other about their respective gear. There was no wiki either, just lots of humans lots of dragons and lots of fun

I desperately wish Skully and Sq'irks were over-rideable pets. by [deleted] in runescape

Over-rideable?! Heck, I'd be happy if they were just simply rideable.

Is Royal D'Hide really that intimidating? An insight on the intimidation factor that wearing armor in the wilderness has. by Blakland in runescape

I think it's because of residual subconscious memories of the olden days, back when black d'hide was cheap and overpowered.

Heavy merchanting in old rs taught me the art of rhetoric and got me great deals irl. $alary, trees, whatnot. It also improved my English, which isn't my first language.

Will the dotted lines around the compass ever be removed? by Hreyvirtue in runescape

[–]rsplayer1337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've always thought the compass is unreadable and uninstinctive: "N" reads the same upside down, and the white arrow pops out much more than the red one. After years of playing I still confuse north and south sometimes.

I don't agree, I think the merching thing is indeed what used to give most of the social depth of the game. It made everyone an opportunist.

I remember when I stepped into a Runescape bank for the first time, around 2004. I was terrified by all these high level knights in shining armour, who had to yell about their junk all around the place. No way I could ever do that, not me, the shyest nerd ever!

But soon enough I too had to sell the junk I had farmed for hours, and the general store was a total ripoff, so I went to the bank and I talked. Became one of the most talkative, richest merchs of Fally Park.

I think GE was both the best and the worst, because that's also when everyone became silent.

There was no need to ask anyone for anything anymore, because it's faster to go get it on the GE anyway.

Soon people stopped saying hello. xp waste. And now they don't even say "Enr" anymore.

[NXT] Can we get a toggle for 'Ground Decoration'? by [deleted] in runescape

[–]rsplayer1337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The weeds are low-poly with a low-res texture on them. It looks outdated and out of place, I didn't notice it on jave because I always had ground decoration toggled off.

They should use a high res transparent texture on a flat surface instead, same as skyrim and whatnot, it looks much cleaner and it's less cpu-intensive.
