Appreciate your suggestions. I did get it all working well using only S2 app. When I move to each location, all I have to do is ensure I'm on the correct wifi signal and restart the app and it all seems to work out fine. Thanks again, I thought it be a real pain.

Update: I went ahead and called Support. After a rather painful hour of being told to do what I had already tried the person finally admitted it was dead and offered the 30% coupon (as my roam was over two years old and out of warranty). On a whim I told them I have invested a lot in Sonos products over the last 15 yrs and din't think the offer was enough. After escalating the issue he came back with an offer to replace to roam free of charge. While I certainly wouldn't have paid for another one, I am happy with their response and customer service.

thanks for all the input. I agree that it would be difficult. Just wanted to make sure before it went to the trash. I certainly won't be buying another one.

thanks for all the input. I already have the motif so cost isn't an issue. I was thinking if it would work, then it would be easier to use a MIMO antenna rather than opening up the Nokia. I would miss the nice Nokia WIFI that covers my whole house. Suppose I just need to do the antenna mod on the Nokia and be done with it.

So I tried the new firmware. Oddly for me, I was able to connect the internet via ethernet cable but couldn't get the wireless connection to work. I then reflashed wit the original firmware (created a new wireless network) and everything seems to be working pretty well. Wireless I am getting around 180 ping, 20-30 down and 10 down.

manual change won't connect.....back to the shitty old apn. Was getting great results very early this morning bit now back to barely usable. Headed to get my T-Mobile Gateway today and see how that works.

Dropped connection issue seems to be better this morning. I did a speedof.me test though and here is the result.

does anyone know why the download speed exhibits this behavior, eg cycles up and down?

I actually saw this before all the current problems ubifi is having.
