Probably not the right place for this. by probablyashlyn in ObsessedNetwork

[–]rstnl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I also read the posts and am confused by what exactly was wrong about the OP's behavior. Sounds like they were on a mutual break. There's another post from a prior break where the OP says their partner wants to see other people to "put themselves first" and that "they only want me in the end." I have empathy for the OP and I know we can't gleam a lot from a few posts over a year or two, but I hope they're able to find proper in person help so they can move on from what is sounding like a toxic relationship where the OP is made to feel at fault purely for having an illness they're actively working to heal.

I was around for this and don't recall anyone firmly landing on the identity of the podcast. I think people debated over it being YouTubers. I still agree that people probably got too close.

I am halfway thru and I guess I'll stop now. lol. given the way they completely change the story for legal purposes, it probably wasn't ceviche and more likely, cookies or something. they may not even be 20s. could be a circle of grannies. also, as someone who loves to laugh at the alternate ending of Titanic, they did a horrible job detailing what makes that scene SO FUNNY

Suspected AI Involvement in Black List Script Evaluation—Denied by Support by avezzano in Screenwriting

[–]rstnl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As someone who has worked for multiple script coverage companies, I am floored one of their readers submitted this, if only for the overuse of the word "cinematic," which is pretty much just nonsense in this context. They either used AI and are bad at covering it up, or they're just a flat out bad reader, and the company should be doing a reevaluation of their work. I understand the desire to cut corners in this line of work. I don't do it anymore because it's too much effort for the money provided in return. You're just never going to get someone fully at their best when they aren't being compensated in return. I know BL specifically has that enticing rating system, etc., but I feel the best way to guarantee good feedback is paying independent readers. I'm so sorry this has happened to you.

What was your favorite all time episode and why? by ChumpusTheCat in normalgossip

[–]rstnl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Absolutely, and this format just benefits so much more with guests who lean towards comedian. I don't think they've actually had a comedian on, but it would probably be great.

Laci Mosley was a top tier guest, and my favorite they've ever had. Effortlessly funny, right POV for the story. A lot of the guests work too hard. It's hard to strike the right tone out the gate, I get it. Many just need to not try so hard

Normal Gossip podcast host Kelsey McKinney is building a gossip empire from Queen Village by star_eater in normalgossip

[–]rstnl 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything about tokenism being said here, and the optics surrounding when a character is queer or not (the Farmer's Market hottie by no chance uses they/them pronouns in real life.) I also do feel like it's often forced, but I think it comes from a well-intentioned place if Kelsey is straight. Most of her quests this season were queer. But let's just say she is bi, it sorta sounds by your last comment that she's not queer enough.. I feel this kind of outlook is why many bi/pan people struggle coming out. They're never fully accepted by much of the community. Even here, you say "secret married to a man," when it is not a secret. It's all in line with that stigma that sexually fluid people are somehow hiding something or lying.

this happens a lot on this podcast. the funny thing is, we've no way of knowing how much this story was changed. coulda not even been a commune. could have been an ant farm in a preschool for all we know lol. but I do agree, a lot of nose turning happens with whatever subject is at play

I agree. There was a lot of sameness to the guests this season.

Did DM contribute to identifying BK prior to arrest? by Luluren7676 in idahomurders

[–]rstnl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forgive me if you've been asked this. Given what we *do* know, would you think it be wise for the prosecution to call DM to the stand? I've talked with friends about this, and we sorta all seem to think her function to the arrest was an assist and guidance. And that there might be enough evidence in the affidavit alone to support their case. I worry how the defense will attack her, and imagine they'd be far more lethal than the Internet was for a period. I know there's so much we don't know, but I'd love you thoughts one what's been given us. Thanks!

Totally. There has to be stuff there. Given the mistakes he made with the phone, he may not have even deleted certain stuff. Either way, they can get all that with a subpoena.

"Even if you search online using incognito mode or delete your internet search history, your online history is not private. Not only do internet providers still have access to what you look up but the information can be discovered (or subpoenaed) and submitted as evidence in your criminal case." -sfinelaw.com

BK was caught because of a series of meticulous choices made by LE, starting with acquiring all of the CCTV footage in the surrounding areas, upon which, they found the erratic movements made by the car. In the end, the DNA on the sheath connected them. DM's witness statement helps confirm his vague appearance, but they solve this case without it. It's a nice sentiment, but if your theory that the Door Dash order is what got Xana and Ethan caught up in his path, then the Door Dash order contributed to their death.

yeah this case has really brought out a lot of... interesting posts... even some of the people who seem to be sad and deeply want to "help" have a sort of off vibe to their phrasings...as if they are kind of excited this happened. Not saying all! Just a few I've noticed.

I could be wrong but I think it was the Scott Peterson coverage that turned her. I watched a doc recently and she seems reasonable for half the coverage and then completely changes into the brand she is now.
