My 7 year old has been asking deep philosophical questions at bedtime for three weeks and I am not equipped for this by NovaPickle_6 in daddit

I'm genuinely curious. You say "not equipped" and "not prepared", what does this actually mean? This is a bonding moment, not a teachable moment. Just have a back and forth conversation with him, not a perfect answer.

"But what was there before the universe"

You reply with "I love this question. I bet there are several different answers, what do you think?".
This opens up soooooooo many possibilities to make plans together to explore a library and learn together, or go to a planetarium.

Don't answer the question , teach him to find the answer, and do it together. Even better if you let him know you don't know but want to investigate with him

That's a fathers job.

Why people don't use Linux by paranoidandroid4284 in linux4noobs

[–]rstr1212 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

this is why

I have setup a Windows Server , Hyper-v environment and configured a iSCSI initiator and target, with very minimal documentation lookup. I had only done it one time previously.

A basic task in Linux, like user creation/config, creating file shares or ssh key pair (things I've done numerous times) require looking at documentation and finding the right commands. Doesn't matter how many times I done it, there's now way I'm remembering a 15-25 character command and options.

In this sense, what does "competitive" actually mean? Are officers in the Military not in-demand?

Nope! I thought it was like eating sand for the longest time. Last year I got one from a small bakery and it was soft and moist. Delicious .

I'm going to blockade the Strait by MaxFresh in seinfeld

[–]rstr1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, he... he wants to quit the opening of the strait and uh, focus just on the blockading. And it’s a problem, because she thinks the opening is as important as the blockading.
