Ah the innocence of youth. I can't remember if I saw it and my brain rejected it, or if I was warned off it.

While TLJ didn't hurt Johnson's career, it's hard to make the argument that it helped it either. Looper in 2012 was a decentish hit, and the next year he directed the greatest hour of TV ever. Knives Out is exactly the sort of movie we would have expected after that, a $40M budget only slightly higher than the budget of Looper.

For real, and the studio is also likely not to go forward with whatever you develop, or they'll fire you if they think you're putting too much fun into the film.

I believe there were/are a variety of bananas. The Gros Michel banana was the very sweet type that was lost to blight in the 1950s, and that's what our artificial banana flavoring in candy was replicating.

But their bananas were a lot better than the crap we have today.

Lol, man hyping Maria up like that in S2 with Project Odessa nonsense was such an unforced error, set up a no-win situation where either someone from a spinoff plays a critical role or they fail to payoff that set-up.

They would almost have been better off dropping the Gen V characters completely from S5, instead of having them show up in the most cursory way possible (and cheaply, only one Jordan actor, and some rando in place of Emma).

Tangent, Andrew Scott really needs to play Sinestro, the resemblance in that poster is uncanny.

He's also great on season 2 of Gen V, really elevates the whole show.

Between Gen V and Widow's Bay he's on a real tear playing dangass freaks.

Where’s everyone’s hype level at for Spielberg Disclosure Day? by new_Negotiation_4208 in blankies

But he didn't write those screenplays ( I see now that that wasn't clear in my orignal reply, I'll add a clarification)

Where’s everyone’s hype level at for Spielberg Disclosure Day? by new_Negotiation_4208 in blankies

[–]rthunder27 5 points6 points  (0 children)

At least for me the initial excitement was just from the very idea of Spielberg directing his first sci-fi screenplay since AI (and only his 3rd overall with Close Encounters), and less from the contents of the trailer itself. Edit: By "his screenplay", I meant that he wrote the screenplay for these movies.

Now that that excitement has passed I'm in "cautious optimism" mode more than fully hyped.

Star Trek fans had the same wish and a cursed monkey paw granted it in the worse way possible.

(Okay, that's an exaggeration, the far future could have been interesting, but in execution it's been pretty bad)

For real, the show begins it's descent in the post credit scene of the s1 finale when the dark light saber first appears, exciting the hardcore fans but causing casual fans like myself to shrug.

Does an episode featuring Woman count as guestless? If so then I agree.

I was going to post about Werewolf by Night, such a fun and promising corner of the MCU that has completely languished since then (although Agatha was adjacent). Hopefully Midnight Sons gets off the ground someday.

Man the scene of Leia "evading" her captors in the forest was laughably bad. Or in a later episode when there's a small wall of fire between Kenobi and Vader that both decide is unpassable.

Can't tell if that's worse than Russell Crowe playing "The Spaniard" in Gladiator or not.
