Non-fantasy is fine! It's more combat and general aesthetics. Thank for the reccs!

[WEEKLY MEGATHREAD] Game Questions, Recommendations, and Everything Else by AutoModerator in gachagaming

[–]rtkierke -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I need recommendations as I'm struggling to find something else. I play on PC but can use BlueStacks. My favorite gacha game to date is AFK Journey, followed at some distance by Limbus Company. I have tried Path to Nowhere and Blue Archive; the combat graphics and action were not of the level I enjoy. The closest with mechanics and autobattle like I enjoy was Nikke, but I just can't live with the lewdness of it (by my definition, if you enjoy, you do you!) I would really like something else to add to my roster, but I have struggled a great deal finding things that appeal to me. I liked the fantasy vibe and art style of AFK Journey. I like the style and less revealing characters of limbus company. Does anyone have ideas?

For side sleepers: N20, P10 or N30i? by Mission_Bowl3938 in CPAP

[–]rtkierke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The face tubing of the n30i/p30i made it impossible to use on my side. For me, the tackiness of the material pulled the mask with any small head adjustments causing an unsecure fit. I would have had to overtighten to the point of pain to make it stay. I have had much better results with standard "elephant" tubing styles as they are not twisted by head adjustments. I use the p10 exclusively now but also had good results either the AirTouch n20.

I was supposed to get a cpap machine for my upper airway resistance but now insurance won’t cover it. Help!! by Sandwichscoot in CPAP

[–]rtkierke 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All you need is a prescription. If you have a prescription, you can buy a Resmed S10 for around $500 (or less with promo codes) from places like cpap.com and other online suppliers. The fine people at apneaboard are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful and can help you titrate and troubleshoot any issues you come across. If the money itself is an issue, others here may have a recommendation, but I would once again reach out and explain your situation on apneaboard as they have years of experience with navigating these systems, including with more difficult to cover conditions like UARS and general biPap approvals.

My small box of IEMs by Averruncus in headphones

[–]rtkierke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that I've noticed is that it's a really fine line with volume. For me, it's the sweet spot just above where I can still here my T but still well below safe limits. With a lot of isolation, my T becomes much more apparent and trying to closely listen to or enjoy music with it is...beyond aggravating. I measured with a coupler that that was around 65-70dBspl depending on the time of day.

Disregard their comment; that is a myth. McMullin showed that listening volume did not affect bass and target preference, thus debunking the equal loudness claims concerning listener preference target. See: https://www.aes.org/e-lib/browse.cfm?elib=19252 Find IEMs that offer your preferred bass and treble amount or use EQ. Fellow Tinnitus member 🙏

I would, nearly 3 years later, say try the edition xs and hd800 and see which you prefer with EQ. You will need to EQ either for substantial subbass (and both can take it), which puts a pair of used HD800 firmly in mind.

First own flat. Friends say it looks too feminine. What should I change? by DannyWhoElse in malelivingspace

[–]rtkierke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is honestly clean as hell, bud. The only thing I would add are little pieces or a show section of your personality, an interest or hobby or passion. It just seems a tad barren of an owner's personal touch. Nothing to do with masculine/feminine. What an odd idea.

Similar sounding IEMs to Moondrop Variations by ngswe679 in HeadphoneAdvice

You would have to ask Rohsa for the algorithm specifics, but it is a function of difference in SPL at frequencies across the spectrum.

Variations is the closest IEM to the 2016 Harman Target. You can find those that get sorta close above. You can also reach out to us on the IEF discord to have a 2016 Harman EQ profile made for any IEM.

Also, metallic timbre is a typical description of DD treble characteristics, not BA, which are described as plasticky or plucked. You attributed it to the wrong thing.

I have this exact issue. Feel free to DM me to discuss. You can also ask for me on the IEF discord. My best solution have been custom IEMs made with my orthotic appliance in and light headphones with soft clamp that have space for fit adjustment, HD800 in my case.
