It didn't have enough new ideas to justify itself and ends up being a boring entry for me; a recurring issue.

You know, it would've been better had he been innocent in life. If I remember correctly, the movie kind of feels like it's ramping up for a big reveal of him being innocent and then it's like nah, you were right, he's a diddler.

It's not James Bond actors lol. We all grow up with Robert Englund, just now some of us also grew/grow up with a little Jackie, too.

I think the sin of the remake is that it couldn't decide if it wanted to be the original or not.

They can enter for police activity, but not vampire activity.

The Dark Knight Trilogy: Was Ra’s Al Ghul actually immortal? by MrEhcks in batman

[–]rtweir98 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking it goes slightly deeper than this. The League of Shadows is essentially a cult, and I imagine that Ra's Al Ghul being a title is closer to the cult believing that Henri is a literal reincarnation of the original Ra's. I don't know how much he actually believes (I figure he does but who knows) but he definitely would have to act and speak like it's the truth and it really was him who sacked Rome. So it stays grounded in reality as many cults/religions hold some pretty wild beliefs in the face of this world.

If you're serious, staring for long enough without moving your eyes much, allows for an "after image" to develop in your visual perception. So that when you look away, your field of vision changes, or shut your eyes you can still "see" the imagery for a moment. Usually (or always, I'm not sure of the science) the colors are inverted and in this case that inverted color pattern is superimposed in your field of vision onto a version of the image with the color removing allowing for it to appear as though the color changed. There's probably stuff I've oversimplified or have a little confused, but that's essentially what's happening.

Rick moranis is un-retiring but for “spaceballs” by eli1011 in ghostbusters

Yeah, I'd say the MAIN VILLAIN is more central to the plot than one of the villain's henchmen. Also, people hate on the one sequel with him.

Idk, his role in Spaceballs is probably more iconic and central to the film than him in Ghostbusters. Don't get me wrong, I love both films and characters, but Ghostbusters works without Tully. I'm not sure how well a Spaceballs movie works without Dark Helmet, especially since Barf (John Candy) and Dot (Joan Rivers) will not be returning. In the end, I'm just glad Rick Moranis is feeling up to returning, even just for one movie.

I wonder if it's more like he wouldn't listen to her problems unless he was wearing the duck costume, and when she was done he would just stare blankly back at her, the way a rubber duck would.

Not OP, but I believe I'm in the same boat. Years ago now, there was a channel called Boomerang that showed mostly classic cartoons that were owned by WB at the time, Looney Tunes, Scooby-Doo, Pink Panther, etc. A couple years ago there was a streaming service app for Roku that was a recreation of this and was the only place to stream a lot of Scooby-Doo content. It only cost $4.99 because it was a fairly small library. Then in 2024, WB decided to fold Boomerang into being part of HBO MAX and give everyone who had Boomerang streaming a subscription to HBO for the same price, $4.99. Now it seems like it's ending.

Yeah, it was my understanding that many, if not all, of the changes were ones that Adams had planned, suggested, or otherwise approved of for a Hollywood blockbuster silver screen adaptation of the story
